Very satisfying.
It was homey, small and quiet, had a room with a big window for Mom to look out and a nice view out the back. Most staff is foreign so sometimes hard to understand. Very caring though.

Mom liked it there
The staff was for the most part very good to my mom. I chose that facility because of the 24 hour awake staff and it was close to where I live. There was an employee that started towards the end of Moms life that didn't speak very good English so was hard for her to understand. Other than that she was happy there and liked the other tenants.

This is a wonderful care home and staff. Highly reccomended. They treated my dad with care, love and respect. If you are looking for a safe, caring and loving enviroment for your family, this is it! The home is upscale with nice ammenties, is created to be a professonial and caring and helpful.

Only 1 staff member on duty at a time. The facility was built as a home, not suitable as a care facility. Very limited parking. They got dads medications wrong.

Hi there, I’m wondering if you have the wrong facility because we haven’t had any male residents whose children were involved in over 3 years. We are meticulous with medication management, have been inspected by the state many times, and have never had a complaint from family re meds. We also make it a priority in coordinating with our resident’s primary care providers in finding the best possible outcomes for medications.
In regards to our home configuration, almost all adult family homes are residential homes that have been converted or remodeled to provide care to up to 6 residents. Our home is uniquely configured with 6 private bedrooms and 6 private bathrooms, with every bedroom having their own private bath. Most adult family homes will have at least a couple shared bedrooms and/or shared bathrooms. There is another IRIS care home in the state of Washington that I think you might be referring to…
In a smaller assisted living or memory care setting, such as an adult family home, you also have just one staff member on duty at all times typically. The ratio of staff to residents is 1 to 6 at a minimum, which is far better than what you see at a larger facility, where the avg is 1 staff to about 15 residents. We also have a nurse and a salaried resident manager who float between our homes as an extra layer of care and oversight that you rarely see in adult family homes.
Again, I think you might have the wrong home. If you did not intend to leave a review for IRIS Adult Family Home in Vancouver WA, we kindly ask to remove this review as it is not exemplary of the quality of our business or home.

Amazing care givers. Home like atmosphere. Great communication with family. I would highly recommend.
The caregivers there are amazing. But there is only one caregiver there at a time, and they do everything, making meals, patient hygiene, patient care, laundry, housekeeping, putting out fires (metaphor) constantly because most the residents have dementia. There is no time for the caregivers to do activities. I feel like activities might be the one thing that's lacking. I do wish they would hire a second person on for activities and some help during the week. It got to be a bit overwhelming at times for a lone caregiver. I would 110% recommend this facility. They are better than family

It has been a very good experience for our family so far at Iris Adult Family Home. They have a great staff and I really like the facility itself. My only concern is my loved one is not very social and does not participate in activities -but that is no fault of theirs. I would recommend them to others looking.

Would not recommend
Most caregivers are responsive and empathetic.
PBJ sandwiches 3-4 lunches a week is unacceptable...& spicy, chili type foods don’t set well with the elderly.
Even more importantly is that they are a certified memory care home with few skills to justify the title. My loved one has dementia & has declined significantly since living there.

Great facility for your loved ones.
It's was hard to put my Husband in an Adult Home, but we found a good one. [Name removed] just opened his first Home Care Facility and we think he is doing a great job. Husband says "he loves it there" and really likes having his own room, surrounded by his personal items and pictures. The food is good and plentiful. He thinks the caregivers are great and they check on him often to see if he needs anything. I go almost every day and always find the residents and caregivers happy.
This is [name removed] first care facility and we are all learning along with each other and I really respect him for the job he is doing. I do wish they had activities, i.e. chair exercises, etc. Hubby does not come out of his room except to eat at the table with the other residents. He is not a joiner and very quiet, but perhaps if they had a joint activity he might. I would recommend this home to any one looking to place a love one.
