Things to know
Overall, the experience has been good. One of the biggest positives is the community shuttle, which runs multiple times a week. The location is also very convenient — it’s about a five-minute drive to two grocery stores, a Target, a bookstore, and a pet store.
In terms of cleanliness, the facility is generally well maintained. I rarely notice any unpleasant odors, and if I do, it’s hard to tell whether it’s coming from a patient or from one of the many residents on the first floor who have mobility issues and use service animals.
The staff is friendly for the most part, though I don’t see them very often.
While the facility itself is well cared for, resident engagement seems limited. I rarely see residents participating in events unless it’s a major holiday. There is a craft room, a library with books, and scheduled movie days, but these spaces are often empty or only attended by a handful of people. It’s difficult to fully understand why, though it does seem that many residents don’t push themselves to participate beyond shared mealtimes.
Meals are another area that can be challenging. Residents are given only a one-hour window to eat, and they must arrive during the scheduled serving time. I’m not sure if this is standard across similar facilities, but it has been difficult for my mother, who is on medication that prevents her from adjusting her meal schedule. As a result, she doesn’t eat dinner with the community. This is something the facility is aware of, and new residents often struggle to adjust. There have also been ongoing concerns about the lack of variety in meals, as the same dishes tend to be repeated.
When it comes to activities, more options would be appreciated. While I’m not an expert in this area, I had hoped my mother would experience a stronger sense of community. Unfortunately, I now better understand why senior housing is often described as a lonely experience.
Internet is not included in the care package, and housekeeping consists of a very light monthly wipe-down of the unit, which feels minimal and somewhat unnecessary.
Overall, the value for the money is reasonable compared to other options we considered, but there are clear areas where improvements could be made.

Our experience
What we like the most about the community so far is the long term residents there and the bus shuttle rides. The units are on the larger side, it's extremely safe and within 5 min driving distance to the closest cluster of grocery stores, banks, pharmacy, book store, hardware store, and target. Excellent Services!
My mother recently moved in and is absolutely thrilled to live here. She moved here from her home in Napa of 60 years. She was reluctant to move, but has made new friends, loves the activities and appreciates the chefs. The location is perfect to meet all her needs. The apartment is spacious and cozy. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Comfortable Living!
I’ve been here at The Springs of Napa about 1-1/2 years and am very comfortable here. People are friendly and helpful. It is a casual relaxed atmosphere. There are various daily activities which you can attend (or not) as you wish. You can be as busy as you like, or you can just sit in the pretty courtyard and listen to the fountains hit the water in the pond. In the spring you can enjoy watching the yearly arrival of our “Might Ducky’s” and the babies that soon follow.

From home to new home!
The facility overall is very good. Not the newest or the squeaky cleanest. But the staff is great, friendly and helpful . Food is very good and tasty. Plenty to do, grounds are very nice. Close to doctors and hospital. We are like family, staff and residents. I'm happy I moved here

Overall nice community
Everyone was friendly and helpful. The things that were problematic were my own personal feelings, not the fault of Holiday Springs of Napa and probably wouldn't apply to anyone else.
I came from a large house and I'm finding the apartment quite small, especially the"kitchenette". I can deal without in-unit laundry, but I'm struggling without a dishwasher.

Kindness is the key at Holiday Springs, Napa
After over a month of searching for a safe spot for my friend [named removed], I was referred to Holiday Springs, Napa. [named removed],was so understanding and helpful and , tho I worried it might be out of [named removed], price range, I accepted her invitation to come for a tour. [named removed], met me that Sunday, showed me around, discussed all features available for [named removed],and brought in one of the contract caregivers. Altho she covered all the bases, I was still worried about making such a big decision for another person, taking [named removed],away from the only life she had known for 50 yrs in San Francisco, and dipping into her limited reserves.
The following Friday, when [named removed],insurance company abruptly stopped paying for her much needed rehab, I was forced to make a decision. Fortunately, the team at the Springs was ready, and facilitated her move 3 days later.
Now that she is settled in, I am so happy to have this caring and helpful team on my side - and [named removed],! Many thanks for everything!

The structure is well maintained and built, since it was a former hotel. It is very clean. It is near a hospital and close to highway 29. It is within walking distance of shopping.
