Oversold
I felt like I had been oversold. Some things that were mentioned during the tour and signing process turned out to not be as described. Also, the food is very subpar.

Holiday Hartland Review
The staff at Hartland Hills are very friendly, warm and welcoming. Many seem to be strongly Christian and offer prayer for and with residents.
Areas of the facility (hallway paint & carpeting, doors) are dated and a bit dreary and could use a refresh to make it feel as warm and welcoming as the staff. It's a fairy quiet place. Residents seemed quiet toward visitors and we didn't see a lot of interaction between them outside of mealtimes.
Food doesn't look very appealing compared to other places we visited, with a lot of fried foods and not a lot of fresh or varied offerings. But the kitchen and dining staff are lovely and make up for it. A private dining room allows family and friends to bring in outside food.
Overall there is a warm and pleasant feel here. Its location, while backing to a busy road on one side, is tucked just inside a neighborhood, making the grounds and overall feel here one of homey and welcoming.

A Nice Place
Food is always the main issue. The staff is very pleasant and approachable. They're always helpful. Overall the facility is clean. I don't know if housekeeping comes as often as what the agreement was but still it's nice there.

Safe Haven for a Senior Sister

It is very clean, and the staff is great. The apartment is a large one bedroom. The community is located off of Tates Creek Road. I would recommend this community to others who are looking for a place.

Hartland Hills has a beautiful clean facility and a very caring staff. The location is perfect. Set in a Hartland neighborhood so it has nice sidewalks to walk and get outside. Inside you will find a beautiful dining room room and lots of space for reading, relaxing, and enjoying your retirement.

Hartland Hills for the win!
I absolutely could not be happier about moving Dad into Hartland Hills. It is a fantastic place! The staff are wonderful. The facilities are beautiful. The residents have quickly become his friends. The shared meal times give wonderful opportunities for bonding amongst the residents. I think my father could have gone into a dark place of depression if we hadn't moved him quickly after Mom's passing. But, Hartland Hills provided everything dad needed. I am forever grateful for Dad to live in this community.
He used to love going out to eat, but now he just wants to stay and eat in the dining hall because he loves the food and the company there. The balcony with the wooded view was a huge selling point for my father. He loves sitting outside and spends hours on that deck! (each resident has a private balcony or patio)

A safe space for Mom
Everyone at Holiday Hartland Hills is so nice, professional, empathetic and you feel like people are actually listening to your concerns. They do get very busy so always remember to be patient! Bluegrass Regional staff have been very helpful too! The residents have all been very welcoming and friendly towards us as well!

I think the facility is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff is overall pretty friendly but sometimes not as friendly to family as they should be for the money that's paid there.
Sometimes the food is not the right temperature. Like things that should be warm are served cold

I would tell others- Ask questions. About food, staff, other people that live there. Smell. Use your nose.
This is an independent facility, but staff are emotionally supportive.
Activities and food are improving and growing.
It is the least expensive place I found.

Make sure of the transportation situation, if that service is something that is important to the new resident. The apartment size is adequate, amenities are okay.

Good community
It seems the staff here really cares about the residents. I would advise anyone who is looking for a place to give it a try. It is more expensive than a regular apartment but here you are part of a community. The food is ok, not great. It's a good community and so far I'm happy here.

Holiday Hartland Hills review
I think the community had a lot of positives, but I was worried about dad's safety. With only one elevator going up and down and most of the people on the second floor not able to get out during a fire. There would've been a lot of issues. Had there been an emergency such as that. Staff was qualified and friendly and helpful. Food was really pretty good, just not always the healthiest. They did great for being such a busy place. The cleanliness was kind of isolated at times when they did not have enough housekeeping staff. I think they have corrected that now.
The staff would always go out of their way to help my dad with different things like transportation, helping him get to doctors appointments, making sure he got the food that he ordered, also providing a place for me to stay when I visited from out of state. The residents were awesome! I think the activity Director did a good job of gathering the community together for different events.

Great Fit For Us
The place is beautiful. The apartments are spacious and very nice. The food is a little sparse(but it's probably portioned correctly). You're not going to go hungry. It's not bad, but could be a little better. I joked that I would lose weight eating there with my father and I did so that was awesome. My daughter and I interact with other residents and everyone is super nice. My father likes it there. He's made friends, he's active, and he is well cared for. I hope he can live out the rest of his years there.

Review for Holiday Hartland Hills
I would talk about how difficult it was to live alone. We are not meant to be alone. And my life is so much fuller with the activities we have. No pushing to attend or join in groups. Find out what you are interested in. We have a bus to attend appointments or shopping or out for a meal. Visit several times. Have a meal. Talk to people that live there and people who work there.

I had moved Mom from another facility, which was Assisted Living. It was that bad. I had concerns about moving Mom to Independent Living. Every facility talks a good game when you are looking at the facility, Hartland follows through. Mom is an alcoholic and they really have done everything that they can to help me with the situation. They have given me the peace of mind so I can finally have a life. I'm not having to deal with Mom's crisis by myself. I know they are helping me. If I'm not there, they call and talk with me about it. They say they are a family and mean it. There's always a manager in the dining room or walking around and always talking to the residents. Everyone I have met has been friendly. The food is good and they work with the residents. At one point, Mom had just been released from the hospital and I went and asked the kitchen staff if Mom could have something to eat for when she was hungry. They immediately made her a sandwich, etc. This was not during meal time. I haven't experienced anything negative. One thing that I learned from Hartland that I did not know: Hartland is private, which means the family makes the decision when your loved one needs to be moved to Memory Care. You can add on home Healthcare which is located in Hartland. Mom had been in a facility that was much more expensive but State run. If you disagree with them sending your loved one to Memory Care, you have to get an attorney and go to court to fight it. It's a lot more expensive. I highly recommend Holiday Hartland Hills. Talk with them, it will be worth your while.
