Happy at Highland Springs
Before my husband and I moved into Highland Springs, we looked at 6-7 other retirement communities in the Dallas area. Every time, we just came back to Highland Springs as the place we liked best. We signed to the priority list when the sales office was still in the construction trailer. We moved in July of 2012 and always have known that we made the right decision. There are a lot of retirement communities in the area, but. what we I feel at the top of the list is the staff and residents. When you move into Highland Springs you are joining an extended family. My husband died a year ago and a friend said to me "I'm so sorry your family all lives out of state". To which I replied "Oh no, I have a very large loving family here". I really believe the move here is the best thing you can do for your family. They will know you are in a wonderful community that has any number of activities and programs you can participate in and people that will care about you. I have had first hand experience with the emergency pull cords, the security team and the EMT's It is reassuring to know we have these professionals at our call. Is it PERFECT? No, but where else can you be where a community from management to staff does the best they can to make us all happy. Do I feel lucky to live here. No, I feel very blessed to call Highland Springs my home

They were spectacular for rehab.
They were spectacular for rehab. We had never had an experience like that. They had lots of different milestones to know when you were ready to be able to leave, like eating in one of the big dining rooms.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Texas regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Texas regulations for Assisted Living.
