I would recommend the community to others, with the caveat that not everything promised will be delivered. The community is very nice but some things were promised that aren't being provided. In general, my mother likes living there and has made friends with the residents and staff.

Five Star Residences of Dayton Place review
She is not especially happy with vegetables. Not cooked well in her opinion! Having trouble with where to sit. I am a friend who helped a friend find senior housing she could afford. I don't know her personal feelings about most. Yes, I would recommend this community to others but lacks a lot of info!

Very Happy With Five Star Residences of Dayton Place
We had to unexpectedly move my Dad into assisted-living/memory care with very short notice. Five Star Residences of Dayton Place was the first to reach out to us, after we Requested assistance from A Place for Mom.
I was immediately impressed with this community! It is remodeled and very nice, and the one bedroom apartments are large and remodeled as well. Plus the cost was reasonable compared to other communities we had contacted in the Denver area.
My Dad has settled in well, the food is great, and you can tell the staff cares about his well-being.
I definitely recommend checking Five Star of Dayton Place if you are looking for assisted living/memory care for your loved one.

Respite care
We used Five Star for respite care as we needed 2 weeks to reorganize our house for my husband’s mother to move in. Staff was friendly and respite care apartment was very nice. Dining room was excellent and we were able to eat with her as well. Activities looked stimulating but she chose not to participate.

This was the best overall choice out of the five residences I toured.
I am still adjusting but the staff members are great and the residents are nice. When it comes to the meals they have many options and there are plenty of activities available, however I don't participate. Mostly puzzles, card games, bingo etc. Couldn't get one bedroom apartment in Denver, with heat, hot water, sewer, air conditioning, weekly cleaning, cable tv, and 3 meals a day for what I pay.

Over promised, Under Performed
When we discussed our family needs with their sales and admin team.....they stated they would do hourly check-ins....we typically saw someone every 4 hrs...food was okay at the best....most of the staff seemed to care....however there were a few that it was just a job to them...so if you choose this place for care of your family member...make sure to visit often. They liked to corral thier residents in one place for easy monitoring. Kudos to the 3 caretakers that really cared and took excellent care of my family member.

Five Star Review Dayton Place
Five Star recently completed a renovation, so everything looks bright and fresh inside and out. Maintenance was very responsive and helpful with move in needs. Professional and experienced management is reflected throughout. Lots of options offered for workout and game activities. Entertainment is well communicated and enjoyable. Staff seem competent and happy in their jobs. Five Star has an assisted-living and a memory care unit so if you want to start with independent, you have options to move around. It is a really good value for the cost. The one bedroom apartment has plenty of space basic but nice kitchen equipment. My mother has had a very positive experience there. The food is really good! There are a variety of options, healthy, and decadent. They offer special meals for holidays. This is a really great place.

Staff is friendly, listens and takes action. Communication is good. Budget overview could be better. Improvements coming etc. The move in was great. Food- my mom likes to complain about... but I think it's a great variety and plenty of options... she just likes donuts. We would recommend this facility to others.

A great place for your loved one with dementia.
My loved one had his own apartment with a separate bedroom and bathroom from the living room. There was also a kitchenette with a refrigerator. He did not have to share a bedroom or bathroom with a stranger - a big plus!. I find them very helpful and caring with all the resident’s. It is great to have the director of the memory care unit in the same area as the residents. I’m impressed with the honesty of the staff. My husband has not had anything stolen like he did in the previous place. Yes, things are “borrowed” from time-to-time but the items are always found and returned to him. I am very pleased with this place overall.

A Good Experience
My family and loved one have had an average experience with Five Star Residences of Dayton Place. The staff are down to earth and friendly. The community has a homey feeling versus the hotel feel you get at bigger pricier communities. A Good Start at Five Star
No one from the staff greeted my dad and told him any information without him calling about everything.
There is an activities calendar, but my loved one has only been here a short time so has not participated in any yet.
They were nice and negotiations for meal plans and move in dates were super accommodating, but after move in everyone was scarce. The maintenance people have been friendly.
Several neighbors have brought over treats and have introduced themselves. Seems like a nice community.
The cottages there are a great size and updated. Perfect for my parents.

My mom is so happy at Five Star Residences of Dayton Place. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The housekeeping is dependable and consistent. Communication with the family is fabulous. They've also recently updated several areas (library/eating hall/bistro/exercise area), making it more welcoming and beautiful. Chef [name removed] asks the residents for weekly input into the menu planning. He's always asking/sitting with residents while they enjoy their meals. There's also awesome alternative menus always available. "Welcome Home".....that's how they greet you with your keys. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.

Tour experience
The tour experience for Five Star Dayton was a 5 the first time and a 4 the second. The facility was very nice. But the admissions person was new and didn't necessarily know the answers to all of our questions that we had. Their prices were very reasonable though. They are also going through a 3 phase renovation of the cosmetics indoors. This was where my mom said she most wanted to live when she visited this summer. She loved the dining room and our guide [name removed]. They definitely changed management between the summer and when we looked again. The apartments are spacious and have laundry in each plus a large kitchen, which was nice but not needed when they serve 3 meals per day. They have cottages that share a pool, but independent living residents don't have access to the pool unfortunately.

I would have liked more information about my loved one's hygiene habits as they avoided showers. I would definitely recommend this facility. They were wonderful. They made sure my loved one was well cared for and included in activities. My loved one enjoyed the happy hours and social activities. The food and waitstaff were also wonderful. The laundry was probably what my loved one was most impressed with.
