Review for Edition Of Saginaw
In the assisted side they are pretty chill but the housekeepers seem lazy. We didn't like the independent side because of Texas weather being a problem but for assisted and memory care it was much better.

Top notch facility
The common areas and Mom's room are always very clean. The staff is always very kind and professional. They have many fun activities and sometimes have musical guests come in and perform for the residence. It is expensive, but not as expensive as other places we looked at, and the quality is much higher.

Do not leave a loved one here!
Moved my 91 year old mom here after a stroke from out of state. No effort was made to welcome her or get to know her once the lease was signed. She fell twice, pushed her button and waited, waited, and waited, yelling, “Help” both times she eventually had to crawl to her door and yell for help. Once she returned from ER visits, no one checked on her even though the entire side of her face was black and blue from hitting her head as she fell. There were numerous medication errors, including an overdose that sent her to the ER. The only activity was Bingo twice a week. Internet very unreliable. I hired outside cleaning services as her apartment was cleaned for 23-25 minutes a week. Her bed was to be made daily. It never was. If the floor was vacuumed, it was not mopped. If it was mopped, it was not vacuumed. All in all, a terrible experience for my mom. I could not wait to get her out of there!

The tour was thorough and I got a good feel for the lifestyle my loved one would have in memory care at Edition of Saginaw. The facility still seems fresh and new. The residents seemed well taken care of and the staff was friendly with me and with the residents.

Beautiful facility, nice amenities, great administrative staff. Weakness was because the facility is fairly new, the caregivers were not great - lots of turnover.

1 - it's beautiful and staff loves their residents. 2 - very clean 3 extremely friendly 4 the staff takes time with each resident and are so kind and sweet and very experienced in care for their residents. 5 extremely helpful with all your needs. 6 food is good. 7 lots of activities 7 days a week and the staff really tries yo get everyone to participate. 8. It is expensive but you do get a beautiful facility, like a 5 star hotel. It's bright and beautiful. Overall from 1 - 10, I would give it a 10

Do not get what you paid for
I had to buy my own internet because theirs was ALWAYS down! I haven't had a housekeeper for 2 weeks because they don't treat their people well and they quit!!! I don't eat the free meals because they suck, and I am so unhappy that I am considering moving!!!

Beautiful new place
Great new place. Needs improvement in certain places. Have had a couple of issues. Some have been resolved. Looking into moving my mother into a more hands on nursing care place. Plus we have a language barrier with her and. I Spanish speaking people to communicate with her.

The Best Place Ever!
My cousin is the first resident in the brand new Edition-Saginaw Memory Care. Upon her arrival, the facility rolled out the red carpet! (Yes there really was a red carpet!) We were greeted by the whole staff, who were cheering and clapping as she entered. It was a very special and emotional oment! I am excited about having her in such a special place. The facility is filled with joy, caring, and love. My cousin visually looks better after the 3rd day. The on-site Chef is amazing and preparing very delicious meals for her. He sits with her at times to see what she likes or doesn't like. Foods are made from scratch such as baked goods, salad dressings, entrees, fresh veggies, etc. Special shout outs to [name removed], the administrator, [name removed], the manager, [name removed], the health director, plus all the other nurses, aides, etc. I am very thankful for this facility. Please consider Edition before you make a decision of placing a loved one. My name [name removed] and these are 100% my words and thoughts.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Texas’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Texas’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Edition Of Saginaw 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
