Outdated Community and Mainly Occupied By Residents That Can't Go Elsewhere
I would recommend you look elsewhere. This is an older community and it would be nice if they could update the community with décor and more maintenance staff. This is an affordable price for a community in the area.
The staff does a real nice job in caring for the residents with what they have to work with. The quality of food should be improved.

My Tour Experience
The staff gave a good tour and was very professional. I loved the apartment layout, but the heating and air conditioning was a single unit in the wall like you have in a hotel. I figured it would be noisy and just not do the job.

Great Place to Live with Marginal Food
I would tell others that this is a nice place to live. The food is marginal. The communication with the staff was good and they were able to assist with answering any questions or concerns with my loved one.

Would recommend this community
The manager at this community was very helpful, you could tell she really cared about the residents. One day our loved one really wanted a donut, and her husband refused to go get one, so the manager walked across the street to pick up two donuts for her. The area and the building itself was very nice, the way the decorated it was very pretty and the overall layout is very nice.

My Review of Arbor Glen
Hello everyone.
Arbor Glen has been my home for the past 5 years. There have been challenging times especially now with the COVID-19 pandemic. But all the staff: [names removed] are all fabulous workers. I only know a few names in the kitchen: [names removed] and all the others that I don't know their names, plus the evening crew that bring our meals to us are fantastic. Everyone works as a TEAM which is great. I also like the fact Arbor Glen has not had any COVID-19, nor any other illness since the pandemic began in March.
I love being a resident because everyone is so helpful when the need arises!!!

Know What you are REALLY getting.
Arbor Glen has been a struggle for the entire 2 years + that our mom has lived here. The first day she moved into a less than prepared apartment. Their excuse was that the maintenance man had just left. There has been significant turnover of Staffing. Only a small handful of origin Staff remains. Many things we were told by the salesman have not come true. For example we were told each year that they will raise your rent between 3 and 6%, but never more than 6%.. In reality they have attempted to raise many people's rent 20% or more. There has been no consistency in food as there have been many changes in the cook staff. They claim to abide by a Holiday Retirement dictated menu, but the meals are not senior friendly, diabetic friendly, or varied. Meals being included in your rent was a huge selling point. But when meals are unedible, it is a complete waste of money. If there was a rating for food specifically i would give them 1 ??.
It was promised that every six months or so each apartment can have one thing deep-cleaned. For example if a person wanted their carpet shampooed or their kitchen deep cleaned that could happen. But that has never been offered. there needs to be consistency between what a salesperson says and what the community can actually deliver. No matter where you shop for a retirement community, that would be my number caution. Beware of salesmen!
Activities and social interaction came to a screeching halt with Covid. Meals are served in isolation, often cold, and without choices for those who may have allergies etc. Many go hungry because they can't eat what is offered.
Some upsides:
The cleaning staff is very kind and there is a sense of security when those ladies come into an apartment to do weekly cleaning.
The maintenance man works his tail off with a smile all the time. Often he goes the extra mile for a resident. He seems to know how to fix anything.
Cost is pretty good in comparison to other options in the area. (If you continue to negotiate)
The grounds are well kept and clean.
The apartments and cottages are quite nicely laid out with walking path and outdoor seating.

A nice place.
The staff is friendly. The services are great for the money. We are very happy with it. My dad thinks the food is a little fancy for him. My dad has a studio and that is a good fit for him, he has a small balcony over the dumpster. The noise from the dumpster can be bothersome.

Excellent Community for my Mother
Toured this community and picked it out for my mother to move here and live in. She couldn't be happier. She has fit right in with other residents, the staff has always been happy and helpful, and there are plenty of activities that she enjoys participating in. It's a great place for her to be!!

The one and only elevator in the building is very old and has often had issues with working correctly in the last 3 months. It really needs to be replaced and I’m very concerned about it. Other then the elevator it is very nice.

Great Fit
My grandfather is loving it here. He has a very nice sized room that his furniture fits into so he feels more at home. The community is bright, clean and open and my grandfather has started to make friends. The staff here are friendly and because my grandfather is mostly blind they help him get around and make sure that he takes part in the tons of activities they offer, he even goes on the field trips when a friend is there to go and help him get around. He enjoys going to the dining room and the food too. I would definitely recommend taking a tour here to see this community for yourself.

What came down to our final choice is the pricing. While they were not the best fit for his lifestyle they were still a nice community. Everybody was respectful, courteous, understood ours needs n they were seeing if he was fit too.

No a bad community
The staff have been helpful and friendly. The residents have been nice and are helping mom adjust to living here. Mom has started making friends. The food started out good, however it has started to decline. They offer daily activities and the community is clean. I have already recommended this community.
