Review for Discovery Point Retirement Community
It's been almost a year since my mom's husband moved out of Discovery point, but during the time that they were there, staff went above and beyond and working with my mom and the problems she was having. Everyone was always patient, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would give everything 5 out of 5, except maybe food because I never ate there.

Overall pretty good place
My mother-in-law was not happy about going into a retirement community, but once she got settled in, she was pleasantly surprised at this place was pretty much fun for her and met her needs. The only complaint is that their food options in the cafeteria are very limited but what they do serve is pretty good

Very clean
Staff very friendly and helpful
2 meals daily breakfast and dinner
The only 2 downfalls is its only 2 meals not 3
My mom is diabetic they dont have any alteratives for meals.
They have transportation for shopping,Dr. Appt and other.

Great retirement community
People friendly and helpful. It's nice everything is the price (rent, cable, electric, water, meals, etc.) is included in the price, so it is easy to set up and move in.
Apartments are good size for a one bedroom. They provide breakfast and dinner daily in a dining room, light house cleaning and sheet washing weekly, washing machine and dryer on each floor for everyone to use, various activities, rides to stores, rides to doctors

Review for Discovery Point Retirement Community
The food is not that good and the hot breakfast is Luke warm. My mom likes it there except for the food. I would recommend due to the price and apartment size. The apartment is a very comfortable size compared to others we have looked at. Everyone is amazing. The only complaint is the food. It is not very good and sometimes cold. I have noticed other people complaining when I'm there. Hopefully it gets better.

You guys were absolutely great! You helped me get my mother into a place on short notice. The people there are very friendly and helpful. The place has wonderful activities to keep my mother busy and active. Apartment sizes are great! Everything has been perfect.

Our family feedback/overall a nice community
The activity director could be doing a much better, she seem more focused on herself rather than the residence, one example is the movies, they had some technical issue, but she is not focused on the important social activity for them. Come across as just lazy and uncaring on her part. The food service should be improved, such as limiting servicing size to prevent wasting is important, but being generous with seconds for those that need more than a very small portion. I know some people steal food and asks for 2nd that they take back to there room, these things should not be allowed, but having so many suffer because of the bad behavior of a few seems punitive to those that behave. I understand some to many are cognitively impaired but as this is an independent living place this needs a little better balance. Overall I am satisfied but these are areas that should be improved. Thanks you for passing this on to them

Hello, she just moved in 2 weeks ago. Everything so far has been a 5 except for number 5 meals. She doesn't care for some of meals.. But then again she complains about everyone's food. For the price, yes I would recommend the Discovery Pointe Retirement Community to others. My mom has a good size apt. It's pretty nice. Our families experience has ben good. My mom seems to be happy here. She is able to have her pets with her which makes her really happy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. She likes her room and the price is very reasonable.

Great place to call home! Great value!
We had a little issue with getting auto rent payments set up and some turnover in the dining staff, but overall, it was great.
Property is a bit dated compared to other facilities, but very clean.
People were great!
They took great care of my dad.
Good variety in food.
My dad loved the activities!
Very affordable.
My dad passed in July, but he was very happy at Discovery Point! I would definitely recommend.

There is always room for improvement. It is very clean. Everyone is very friendly. They have a lot of activites. It's very good value for the money. We picked this community, because of the price and friendliness. I would recommend to other families.

I loved the tour guide - she was such a genuine person. All of the staff I interacted with were friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to their jobs. The downfall here was that the apartments just felt very simple. There was no patio or outdoor space off of them and that was something that was important for my parents to have.

Parents are happy
The activities are not quite as coordinated as I was hoping for - but there is a fair amount of things offered for the residents. I know that everyone is struggling to find help, my parents said the food has gotten better and there is always something to eat that someone will like. The apartment sizes are very good - they are bigger than what we expected. I would recommend Discovery Point to others looking for independent living.
