Disappointing management
I can tell you I would not move back again. Attitudes of some staff. Corporate dragging feet on issues. Rent going up every year more than COLA increases. They also rented to those beyond normal abilities to care properly for themselves in order to keep quotas up.

Country Club Village Retirement Community
we did not have a wonderful experience where we were. The week after we moved in they started remodeling the kitchen so the whole experience was not what it should have been, we were not told when we were looking that that it was going to happen. The "housekeeping" for the cottages of independent living was a joke, if you can call spending a total of 15-20 minutes in a 2 /2 twice a month cleaning. Being on a restricted diet for diabetes was a challenge, about the only thing I could count on being able to eat was a salad, sometimes a protein. If they were going to have something I couldn't eat I had to call over before 10:00 am and place an order. The kind of last straw for us was when we had 8 inches of snow, we were told we were in independent living so they didn't have to shovel the walks but yet they expected people to go over to the main building to pick up their meals. There were many people in these cottages that were only able to get around with walkers. There were a lot of nice residents there, many had been there a long time. It seemed there were a lot of people who should have been in Assisted Living rather than Independent Living. If you needed extra help, you were allowed to bring in your own aides or whatever. I think a lot of the problems could have been resolved/avoided if they had more experienced staff. The activities were only led by the residents with no guidance from the staff. I know this is probably not the kind of reviews you want but this was our experience in living there for 6 months. Most of these things seem small but they add up.

Review for Country Club Village Retirement Community
The price was the biggest issue. The size of the units, was also a determining factor, We have a cottage instead of apartment, they are about 1200 square feet and offer more privacy than apartments. Included in our monthly fee is one meal per day. We were offered a free meal as part of our tour. The food was very good. The kitchen is now being remodeled so there have been some issues but hopefully all will be resolved when it's finished. The calendar does not have as many activities as we were expecting, mostly mornings. Everyone seems very friendly. It's supposed to be for senior living only, not assisted living although I think there are some who have in home care. We are supposed to have cleaning every two weeks but I find it not very thorough, I think they are limited to how much time they can spend, they may be short staffed for the services they say they will provide.

Hoping for Improvements
Apartment sizes and amenities are good. They're remodeling the kitchen and dining area right now so I would really rate the food right now at a 3, and we have to eat in shifts so I don't see some of my friends.

Experience living in the village.
At first, I have never lived in a community setting. Took a while to adjust. Love my cottage, my neighbors and have made and met great people and new friends. Staff wonderful people. Chef along with his associates. So friendly and helpful. I highly recommend CCV! Plenty to do! If there’s ever a problem or concern, let the staff know!! Maintenance is always ready to help with any issues! I want to thank [names removed] and his entire crew for the professional service and hospitality.!! Do not hesitate to arrange a tour, meet the staff and talk to the residents!! Try the food, excellent. I have to say, my favorite salad is the carrot and raisins! Like mama made! Arranged a tour today and find out what you’re missing!! Ginger DuBre’

Perfect Place for Mom
We moved my independent mom from WI to AR to be closer to us. With my wife's parents being long time residents here, we knew it was the perfect place. She enjoys the activities, the friends she's made, and the staff. I enjoy being able to have lunch with her every Friday! I have since brought a volunteer bluegrass jam group to play for the residents on a monthly basis. They just love and appreciate our playing. Probably, because they forget their hearing aids. :) LOL. I have come to truly care for some of the residents and staff as well. Im always willing to help when asked. If you're looking for a place for your independent mom, why settle for 'a place for mom' when you can have the 'perfect place for mom.

Excellent retirement community!
I would highly recommend Country Club Village in Hot Springs, AR. The community is extremely nice as is all of the staff. [name removed] is an excellent executive director who will spend time with the residents and/or their family addressing anything they may have questions about. Our mother was there until her passing and she loved it. They have great activities and day trips. I give it a 5 star rating!

Above and Beyond
I’ve spent the last several months in this community and it’s hands down the best senior community I’ve ever encountered. I’ve worked in various communities and facilities for 24 plus years and never felt the warm and love that I do here not only from the residents but the staff too! The apartments and cottages are cozy and the activities and events for residents are endless! There is no time for boredom here! The food is top notch and the variety is amazing! When I’m older and looking to down size, Country Club Village will be my only option!

The staff really is amazing and they know all of the residents. They help out with things and keep the families well informed. The apartment sizes are really nice. This was the first place we looked, so we had our standards set high when touring. The staff here make it more of a lively atmosphere. It has been a very good experience so far.

A Very Nice Stay
I didn't get to see a whole lot, but I saw my loved one's room and the cafeteria with the menu posted for the day. It all looked really nice. His room was very large, and he had a little patio he could sit out on. He was very comfortable while he was there. Everything was great.

A Place for Mom has scored Country Club Village Retirement Community 7.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
