Very happy
I'm very happy here at Country Club at La Cholla. The staff are wonderful. The apartments are spacious. I was first drawn to the grounds that are very green and lush. Very happy with staff and management. They work very hard.

Excellent experience

Unfortunately, my significant other passed, but the short time he was there, he was very happy. The staff always was great when I was visiting & were great in helping me find people to move his belongings. It was a wonderful place.

a better variety of food would Definitely Make this a 4.5 restaurant and maybe even a 5 on special occasions
Overall experience was good not great!! Food service was very good and servers were very pleasant to work with. Only complaint about food was NOT Enough variety.

Love it!
I moved here three years ago from the midwest. I chose Country Club due to the closeness of my children here in Tucson. It was the best decision of my retired life. The residents and staff here are so friendly and caring. We all feel like we are living and not just existing. I have made so many friends here, and there are more activities than there is time to do them. The weeks fly by so quickly as I am enjoying being here. I have looked at other retirement communities in the area, but Country Club is the very best in every aspect.

absolutely horrible place to live. they dont accommodate for living needs. upper management is beyond rude and unwilling to help with simple requests. if im spending 3500+ here i expect a decent place to live . DO NOT LIVE HERE

Such a lovely community
Working in the industry gives me the opportunity to visit more communities that most. Country Club at La Cholla is truly a one of a kind community. Amazing grounds and large functional apartments is just the beginning. There is never a lot of availability as there are so many long term residents. This doesn't happen by magic. It is a top down community with great leadership that reflects directly to the happy and engaged residents. Kudos for a job well done!

My review
We chose Country Club because my sister in law works in the industry and her grandmothers was here. The rooms are actually a really good size because it is an older building and structure. The food that they serve is good for being bland. From what I have seen everything seems to be fine and I would recommend to others who are looking.

This is where we currently live but are thinking seriously about moving out because of lack of service.
Dining is typically an one hour process. Sit, wait 15 minutes for a server. Give order for liquids and food. Wait 15 minutes for liquids, another 15 for food. If you didn't specify when you wanted desert to appear, wait another 15 minutes. Expect one or two items to not arrive as ordered or appear when not ordered.
Of the most concern, timeliness of caregiving. Some caregivers respond in 5 minutes or less, if only to do triage and let us know where we were in line. Other times 20 minutes goes by, then 30, then a call to the front desk for a welfare check on the missing caregivers. Now they want to inflict an 8% increase in skilled caregiving charges - to bring them back up to the level of care we've been paying for but not getting?
Wine down Wednesdays, Happy hour and the activities keep us as entertained as we care to be. While the carpet should have been replaced 10 years ago and is not as nice and bright as others in the market, it is overpriced compared to other facilities.

Our tour experience
Country Club at La Cholla was lovely, but a little pricey for us. The grounds/landscaping were mature and well cared for. They also had separate units where couples could live, with carports and garages.

The activities are good they have a men's club and Bingo. This is one of the reasons we moved here. The staff is extraordinarily nice and friendly. The community is older and you can hear noise from other apts. We have a nice patio to spend time outside

We got the vaccination!!!
Here is another good reason to live at the Country Club of La Cholla.
Our executive director, [name removed], worked very hard to line up a shot
clinic at our facility. He worked closely with the health department and CVS pharmacy to make it happen. In just two days, all the residents and staff that wanted to be vaccinated got their shots and never had to leave the building. All went very smoothly thanks to [name removed]'s preparation.

The Country Club at La Cholla is a caring place to live.
LaCholla looks like a country club in the Bahamas, with mature palm trees around the pool, and patio, flowering plants everywhere, and shaded walkways. The staff is helpful and friendly, addressing each resident by name. There is plenty to do with card clubs, puzzle boards, a work out room, exercise classes, arts & crafts, happy hours on Wednesdays, holiday decor and activities. There is a library on site and book shelves on every floor. Chapel services are available. The ballroom hosts live entertainment, Bingo, movies, and holiday festivities. The director does walk throughs and has an open door to hear resident feedback or concerns. There is a variety of satisfying food choices from soups, salads, and sandwiches to meals like beef tips, tuna steak, lasagna, and cultural favorites. Desserts include favorities such as cake, pie, cookies, icecream and fresh fruit. The front staff kindly accommodates resident needs and requests. It is a warm, friendly and supportive community.

I do have a few complaints, they have garbage cans out front that they do not pick up and you have to walk past them all the time.
