About the facility
Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay

Begin your next adventure in rural central Texas in a luxury, lake resort vacation community along the scenic shores of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson and the picturesque Colorado River. Located on the southern edge of town, near State Highway 71, Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay features two stone, one-story buildings on a vast, idyllic property of prairie dotted with mature trees. In a unique construction format, one building houses assisted living care residents, while the second building focuses on serving memory care residents’ unique needs.

As a family owned and operated business, Celeste Care understands the importance of caring for older adults. The owner and president, Susan Faldyn, is the daughter of an Alzheimer’s parent, which gives her a unique perspective into how caregivers should compassionately interact with residents and their families. Her experiences as her mother’s guardian shaped how the community approaches each individual’s specific journey and guides an ultimate goal of making older adults feel comfortable when they can no longer live at their own homes.

Great experience with staff. Would recommend a visit.
My dad passed away in June. My understanding is that Celeste Care has now been purchased by a corporation and quite a bit has changed since my dad was there. I really liked the staff, but the turnover rate was very high. The director of the memory care facility is now gone and she was someone I relied on a lot. I was sad to hear she left. For us location was a big factor in placing my dad there too. One complaint I would have is that I felt like they always needed more staff. Food quality was give and take depending on retaining the staff.

Review for Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay
It is a great place. Small and quaint. We picked this facility mainly because it is close to our home, but we have been quite happy and feel fortunate to be a part of this community. I would recommend to others.

Seem to be shortstaffed a lot at the time
If your loved one is bedridden or confined to a wheelchair it's not a bad place. My loved one wandered and it seemed that they didn't care for that.

I would recommend Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay to others. There are only 14 rooms in the facility. The response time when a resident calls is quick. Everyone eats together at one large table unless requested otherwise. Family is called whenever something out of the norm arises. The meals are home cooked by a nutritionist on week days. Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay is the best place that we found before placing mother. There is a waiting list to get into the facility.

Wonderful Experience at Celestecare of Horseshoe Bay
It is outstanding. The management and staff make the place shine. The facility is unique being out in the country, which is nice but the staff are truly what make it an awesome place. There is very often some sort of activity for the residents to participate in. They have an employee dedicated to that very thing. When an activity is not being done, there are wonderful rocking chairs on the front and back yard to watch birds, longhorn steers, deer, turkey, you name it.

overall positive, would recommend
Overall my dad has had a great experience at Celeste Care and we are very happy with our decision. I do feel that sometimes more caregivers are needed. Usually there are 2 in the facility with the memory care residents but occasionally there is only one. I think they should always have 3. I have no issues with staff as individuals. They are all friendly and take great care of the residents. I just think they could use more support. My dad enjoys the meals very much. We have just run into issues with the timeliness of service and some of the meal choices. As for activities, Wednesdays are great days for the residents. Just wish more activities throughout the week. Think that goes along with the number of caregivers available on any certain day.

friendly staff
The ladies that oversee the community [name removed] and [name removed] are excellent, they always answer our calls and text. They are very communicative and responsive which we really appreciate. The activities director is excellent and the activities that our loved one does participate in he enjoys. This community has a very homey feel to is - it does not feel like a clinical facility. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Would definitely recommend--loving care for your loved one.
It was a great place for our family member. She was very happy there. They took very good care of her from day 1 until the end. We loved the staff. They were always there for us too. They still are even though she has passed. We were very pleased with all aspects of their care. They respected all of us and did their best for her. We would definitely recommend this place!!!!

I feel comfortable that my sister is being well cared for, safe and happy in this location
The administrator is very nice and helpful, given the time crunch we were in he was able to get our loved ones room and everything set up very quickly. On the tour he took us around the community and told us everything about the time. All of the staff working there are very helpful and overall she seems to be satisfied with the meals and dining service.

NO to Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay
Do not move your loved one into Celeste Care Horseshoe Bay assisted living or memory care. The staff is not what your loved one deserves! The director and head medication nurse will administer medication against the physician's orders and will give night meds in the day. Suspected physical abuse for our loved one from night staff. We asked to view the cameras but the director never showed them to us. The facility is in need of repairs. We asked numerous times for our loved ones ceiling light be replaced/repaired to work but it never was. The water faucet in the restroom was so calcified that water would not run. Our loved one took numerous cold showers. Residents are encouraged to eat and stay in their rooms. Our loved one started in assisted living and was moved to Memory Care per the director stating the need for Memory Care. Don't be fooled the same staff works in both facilities. Best advice...get on the waiting list for [removed]!

Dad is adjusting well.
They meet my father's care needs for the most part but they could use a few more staff members. My dad keeps to himself mostly but I'm sure they encourage him to join in activities. He must think the food is alright because he asks for seconds! We chose Celeste Care because it was closest to the family and made visiting easier.

Spanish Trail is a good place for my wife!!!!
The one little thing I could say about this community is I believe they need a little more staff. The staff they do have treats everyone very good. The food is good and they have a variety that changes monthly. This is a clean small care home and I would recommend this place to family and friends.

New Memory Care Unit
We have a friend in the Memory Care unit for a little over a month. So far, we have been very satisfied with the treatment that she is receiving. There seems to be more inter-action with her than she received at a previous nursing home. The staff seems competent and always ready to be of assistance. Spanish Trails was recommended to me by a resident’s daughter who spoke very highly of the facility. The facility is well arranged for the comfort of the residents and it is a warm and hospitable environment.

They are very caring and try to meet your needs
They are very caring and try to meet your needs. I would recommend the Spanish Trail. The facility is always very clean and well kept. I had some meals here a couple of times and the food seems to be pretty good. The staff has been very accommodating. They are very friendly and nice. The care services here are excellent. The Spanish Trail is a nice community. It has been a very good experience. It's been nice.

It's going very well.
It's going very well. It's a small facility, so it's very nice. The quality of the facility is wonderful, extremely clean and well maintained. The only thing I didn't realize is that the caregivers aren't certified. They are very proactive with their caregiving, though. They have an RN that works normal hours, and then is also on call. There is a physicians assistant who will come to the facility. The administrator is fantastic. There is a two to one ratio of caregivers during the day. The food and the quality of the food is very good. Other than not having a requirement for CNA's I don't have any complaints.

We moved my 92 y.o dad here four months ago after a bad experience at Gateway Gardens in Marble Falls. Spanish Trails is a beautiful home-like 16 resident facility with a casual, laid back feel. You walk into the place and immediately feel like you just entered someone’s home. The owners office on site and are a wonderful caring young couple. The director also offices on site and is a joy to work with. The care givers are awesome, experienced, caring, and hard working. The staff are actively involved to ensure residents get what they need. There have always been 2 caregivers on duty on days I have visited. My dad gets the attention he needs for his activities of daily living and staff take the extra time to encourage him to help himself. The meals are good, and prepared by staff in the kitchen, just like at home. My dad is happy and thriving at Spanish Trails. It is a great feeling to know that he is being cared for in a loving environment. The owners have begun construction for a memory care building next door so this is truly an aging in place facility. We are so glad we found this gem.
