Long wait times
They are shorthand all the time. So it takes them awhile to answer calls.
The staff are very nice and are doing what they can. It hard for one person to take care of 20 - 30 people on their own. They do the best they can.

Great Staff
What we like the most about the Bickford of West Lansing is the staff. The staff members there are very caring. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

Great potential/ falls short
My parents moved into this facility about 10 months ago. I think this facility has great potential. The building seems very nice. The individual caregivers are mostly awesome. I couldn't have asked for anything better when my mom was in hospice. My father is still a resident here. I'm now living out of state and I'm not impressed with the communication. Additionally, in the last 10 months they've had tremendous turnover in staffing at all levels. The Director had only been there a few months when my parents arrived and by Christmas he was gone. His replacement is now gone, also. They're still without a Director. As of today, I would not recommend them to friends and family. I hope they figure out their problems and get back on track. The very worst part is the communication. I've tried to get copies of the paperwork that I signed from three different people, all of which are now gone. It is beyond ridiculous. The non-management staff are great (I'd rate Management staff at a 1) and housekeeping does a good job.

Fantastic place for mom
We chose Bickford of West Lansing because we thought it was a very nice facility when we went to visit. My moms room is a little on the smaller side. She loves the food, they are chef prepared meals and what I have been told is that they use all fresh produce which is much healthier. The staff members here are very helpful and I would definitely recommend to others.

Way above average
Excellent care in a beautiful, clean facility. Convenient location. Staff is terrific and friendly. Food is tasty and abundant. Security excellent. Residents wear pendants to summon help when needed, and residents who do not need accompanying outdoors can have a fob that will open exterior doors.
Activities available. Memory care on a separate floor, so alert residents are grouped together for meals. The only negative comment I can make is that Bickford of West Lansing is among the more expensive options in the area, but rooms/ apartments and common areas are exceptionally spacious and nicely appointed .

Great care
My father in law has been a resident of Bickford West Lansing for almost 2 years and we are so pleased with his care! He is in the memory care area and they are so sweet to him, they treat him like their own father or grandfather. I highly recommend Bickford West Lansing

Wonderful Staff
From our first visit to Bickford of West Lansing, everyone greeted us and all the staff members were very friendly, helpful and nice. The food here is good, and I feel the have a nice variety of items. I also appreciate that every resident wears an call button at all times, and I love that the community is a mile and a half from my home. I'm able to visit often. The community has been made over a lot since they were bought by new management, and while I feel they have done a great job, I feel the community itself could be kept more tidy.

Super Helpful Staff
The staff at Bickford have been super helpful, and have gone way out on a limb for us to accommodate and help us. They have just ben great. The food is excellent, and my friend just loves it. They have a wide array of activities and outings for the residents, and the community is clean with all brand new furniture. I also like that each wing has their own dining room, so the community retains a smaller, more homey feel.

Great tour
I was very impressed with the fact that the director of this community did our tour on a holiday weekend because they knew we were in a bit of a bind. They did an excellent job, took their time showing us around their beautiful community and were able to answer all our questions we felt that the location was not as close to us as we would like but I would recommend community.
