I was there trying to find a place for my brother who has dementia. My mother had Alzheimer’s, and we had a good experience with her at another facility in KY. Brookdale, by far, exceeds my expectations. The staff is amazing. They were able answer all my questions, but you know how wonderful they are when the residents respond to them as they did when I was there. They are one big family, and that’s where you want your loved one!!

I toured several places and really loved this community! It felt warm and friendly and the staff was great. We haven’t decided on what city we are moving mom but if we stay in meridian, we will choose Brookdale! Highly recommend!

Great Environment
I was recently visiting my hometown and decided to stop by Brookdale Meridian to see one of my old teachers! Let’s just say I truly enjoyed my visit! The staff were friendly and the residents were so happy and engaged! I will definitely be recommending this community to anyone that is considering Assisted Living!

Wonderful Place
I recently visited Brookdale Meridian and was very impressed with the community. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and inviting. The building was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and had a comfortable feeling throughout.
The staff were friendly, professional, and appropriately dressed. Everyone I encountered was welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to be there. It was clear that they care about both the residents and the overall environment of the community.
What stood out most to me was the residents. The people living there appeared healthy, active, and happy. I saw residents interacting with staff and one another in a positive way, and there was a strong sense of community throughout the building.
Overall, Brookdale Meridian left a wonderful impression on me. The combination of a clean environment, caring staff, and engaged residents creates a place that truly feels like home. I would highly recommend anyone looking for senior living to take t

Staff is caring. I visit twice weekly and have witnessed activities that engage residents -one staff member dancing with individuals and the activity director playing piano/singing with residents - Menu and room are good- no traditional Thanksgiving meal. .the folks are kind BUT they do not follow the posted schedule of activities- every time I visit (twice a week) or others have visited, all residents are sitting in the tv room... no trivia, no game time, no crafty corner, no Sunday worship...her physical needs are met but not her mental needs for MEMORY CARE--- I can place her in a much less expensive place if she isn't receiving what Memory Care requires!

Residents experience
The staff is friendly and supportive. Food is below mediocre. Cleaning is not a priority. Only one on housekeeping staff. Facility is not handicapped user friendly. Doors are difficult to open. Window blinds are almost impossible to operate. Meal utensils and dishes are frequently dirty. Staff knock then enter even if resident in undressed or in bathroom with no regard for privacy. Waitress put placemats where people sit in chairs to change tablecloths. Waitresses handle eating utensils by eating end, not handles.

Brookdale Meridian review
The staff is always welcoming and friendly. According to my children who visits during mealtime , he has a healthy appetite. I know that y'all attempt to take him outside at times. Taking care of individuals are a difficult and time consuming task. I am thankful to all of you.

Disappointed
When I first toured Brookdale it looked like a nice facility and for the standard residents it could be. My aunt was in their memory care wing. There was a lot of staff turnover. The food served was generally something you would find on a kids menu at a restaurant and quite often cold. The "entertainment/tv room" is so small when they try to do activities residents are stacked 2 & 3 deep.
The memory care wing is very dark - on outside windows in general public areas. When I checked my aunt into Brookdale there were lights in her room that needed to be replaced plus the cable in her room needed to be turned on. After a month neither of these had been taken care of.
There was an episode where my aunt was having breathing problems and on the verge of a panic attack. The nurse on staff couldn't find a stethoscope so they took her blood pressure. I stayed with her until she calmed enough to go to sleep, the nurse never came bak to check on her.
Finally - there were several times I would visit and equipment would be left in the halls (floor fans, purs carts, etc) making it difficult to navigate the hallway. People with dementia get confused easily and this definitely contributed to her anxiety level.
When I signed the contract for the room I was promised 1 month free rent. I kept getting told they were working on it. When I gave them notice I was moving my aunt out, the credit miraculously was applied.

No Right of Recision Clause in contract!
I found the leadership to be dishonest and manipulative! I am working with an attorney to settle a disagreement with them and my dad never even lived there. Not one day. Buyer beware! Don't sign a contract unless you're absolutely sure of what you're getting and when you plan to move in!!

Things to know
My mom is diabetic and we pay extra for that. The nurses need educating on how to treat when blood sugar is low. The food is usually too spicy and too much pepper. The combination of food choices per meal doesn't go well together. Food portions are skimpy.

Very disappointed
My wife spent a total of 3 nights there between [date removed] and [date removed]. It cost me over $[removed]. She died on the [date removed]. Brookdale has not offered to refund any of the money. Seems a bit pricey for 2 weeks. I would tell others to get an itemized list of all charges up front. They not only didn't offer a partial refund but charged me another $[removed] plus after she died. I asked for list of those charges over a week ago and still no reply.
