Benton House Review
The facility is of a smaller size than many in the area which was attractive as it makes it easier for the resident to navigate and less chance of being confused.
I think like most facilities they are understaffed but they make every effort to be responsive. I think anybody that needs to place a loved one in an assisted living facility needs to have a clear understanding of what that means and be willing to be actively involved in the care by either being able to have family members visit on a regular basis or to have an aide, as we do, visit several times a week.

Mom is being well cared for.
We chose Benton House of Sugar Hill because of the quality of care my mom received while attending the day programs. My mom enjoys the daily activities. The staff has been caring & attentive.

Benton House is a friendly, safe and happy environment. I definitely feel comfortable with my mother-in-law being there. She is well taken care of. And I would recommend them to other families.

Exhausting Start to Peace of Mind Finale
The community has had some turnover issues; however, I believe that is happening most places nowadays. The community is clean and is in a nice neighborhood. This was the most reasonably priced community in the area.
They have bingo, church services, musicians and more as some of the activities offered to the residents. My loved one has some friends of the family in the community from staff to residents. I would recommend the community to others.

Benton House Is a Great Place for Your Loved One
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff is really good. The caregivers seem very caring and responsive to my loved one's needs. My loved one seems happy here.
Some of the activities have been scaled back due to the pandemic. [name removed] is phenomal and she has the residents involved in activities, and makes my loved one feel special.

Benton House of Sugar Hill review
The staff members seem nice, friendly and they recognize us every time we come to visit. However we are not to impressed with how they secure the residents keys, when they leave the keys are put into a basket by the front door and anybody could grab them. We aren't sure if they have lost some kitchen staff but the meals take awhile to be delivered and the quality has declined. Our loved one is not to impressed with that or the evening activities, we do wish they offered more of a variety.

Read contract carefully
My mom lived there twice, as we were hopeful she could live in an asst living home. Both times she was hospitalized. During the hospitalization we were told her level of care was too much for them and she could not return. We found another home. However, both times they billed us for periods of time after she left. Even though the contract states otherwise. We were even referred to a collection agency for the amount that was owed after she moved out. Was a stressful time to begin with. Felt preyed upon.

Outstanding staff, they go above and beyond
We have been nothing but happy with Benton House. We chose this facility at the time because we were in a time crunch and they had availability when we needed it. Also, from meeting with the director she was very understanding with the tough circumstances and very friendly. They have been great with communication and keeping us up to date with what is going on. It has been a great experience and I would highly recommend them.

Nice and Clean Community
I've taken my loved one to Benton House on occasion for respite care, and overall, I feel it is a very good community. I will say that it seems the prices have gone up, and it was more expensive the last time he stayed. However, the place is nice and clean, the staff is helpful, and he ate well when he was there. He actually gained weight during his stay! They seem to have a lot of activities like games and exercises, and I like that the community is close to our home.

The best one we looked at
The staff were nice, patient and understanding during my loved ones respite stay. The food looked good and they do offer daily activities. They keep the community clean. There is more of a community feeling than at the other communities we looked at. I would recommend this community for a respite stay.

This is a good place if you do not need a lot of assistance - if you have medical issues or if you are in mid or advance stage Alzheimer's stay away. The staff is not qualified - and this place is understaffed. Staff is not trained at all. Overpriced too.

Care for a loved one
We toured this community for the care of a family member. The staff were nice and caring and were able to answer my questions on the care that would have been often. I would recommend this community for good care. this was not in the area that we were looking for at the time. It is a good value for the care and the meals and activities.

I like this nice community. I like the great staff that were caring. The food was outstanding. I really liked being activities with the activities with the other residents. I wold recommend this community to other families for the great care and the value that is offered here.

I would not recommend this community.
I did not feel the staff were qualified to care for someone with a medical condition. They did not seem to check on my loved one very often. They did not assist in helping to take care of his personal needs. He lost weight and they did not seem to keep him active while he was living here. One of the caregivers lied to me and said they just checked on him when I found him sick in his room. I could tell they had not been in for a while. We have moved him out of this community due to what I think was a lack of care.
