Belmont living
Belmont is a good place to be. I am almost 95 and have lived here four years. I am able to do most things for my self, but driving, running errands, etc. are no longer good to be doing alone anymore. Belmont furnishes many interesting activities, exercise, plus opportunity to meet interesting people and make new friends. It has become my new home.

A safe nice place, the staff is very friendly
The location of Belmont Village is very convenient for our family, that was one deciding factor. Another deciding factor was that it just had an overall very established homey warm feeling to it. The activities given the circumstances have actually improved and getting better. However assuming like a lot of other communities, Belmont is suffering with staffing issues, but they have been exceptional with getting all of their staff members vaccinated and keeping a close eye on the residents health and safety. Also our loved ones apartment had just been renovated when she moved in and everything looked brand new, from the flooring to the countertops, even the cabinet doors.

my review of Belmont Village West University
The community is very nice and the food is very good. Communication could be better, it hard to know what is going on with your loved one. It can be tough getting ahold of someone to give you updates I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Look Beyond the Facilities!
We moved my mom here when she started needing help to take a shower and go to the bathroom due to stability issues and we didn't want her to fall. The place is beautifully maintained and they are undergoing renovations of each of the apartments. The marketing people are really a lot better than the product they have to market. When my mom needed assistance the help was often unpleasant, didn't smile, acted like she was a burden to them, especially the night person, of which there was only one for the whole floor. One of the day people was not a good match for my mom and we asked to have a different person assigned to her. They removed the old person, but forgot to assign someone else so my mother was on her own for a day and a half before management discovered they didn't assign anyone, but that is after all of her children pointed it out to them. My mom had to paddle herself in her wheelchair to get her medicines or she would have missed the schedule completely. I'm not sure how long it would have taken for them to discover that she didn't get her medicines. There is no central system through which to coordinate the personnel and make sure that when a call goes out by a resident, that it is actually answered. No one answered my mom for a day and a half even though they heard it on the system over and over, because it wasn't coming from their room number assignment. We only allowed this to go on for about six weeks and then moved my mom again only this time to a senior living facility with caregivers that we interviewed and hired. In the end this turned out be a more affordable option getting her exactly the care she needs. We expected for $10,000/month to get exceptional care. I would definitely not recommend this place for anyone who is unable to advocate for themselves. The struggle was real!

We Could Not Be Happier
My loved one lives at Belmont Village, and we could not be happier with this community. The employees seem to be treated very well because they are so happy and so warm with the residents. The food is excellent, and my loved one says she's sure to gain weight here. My loved one seems to be very well cared for, and I would definitely recommend Belmont Village to other families.

Amazingly Expensive
We had my mother-in-law here for about a month and it was a good stay. The staff was nice but we didn't realize that mom needed more assistance. The independent living and assisted living was blended. They would knock on here door and she mostly stayed in her room. The housekeepers were amazing. And the cook staff was great and helpful.

Beautiful and warm
It was time to start finding a place for my mother-in-law to live, especially after the hurricane hit, and of all of the places that I visited, this place felt the classiest. Everything is kept up with very clean and from what I know, housekeeping comes in at least once a day and cleans up. The staff is easy to communicate with and just great. My mother-in-law likes the food and they usually have 2 options for what you can eat, so if you don’t like one option then you at least have another one. She’s a smoker, which can be hard to find a place that accepts that, but Belmont Village offers patios off the side of the apartment that she can sit out on and smoke if she wants to. They offer a full calendar of activities each month with things like exercise, lectures, bridge games, movie nights, and even field trips. It’s a beautiful place. It’s very warm and it feels contained so it’s not so spread out. She fell recently and broke her hip and we got a phone call immediately and they called an ambulance. They were very quick to act. They’re very on top of checking in on the residents if they don’t show up for a meal time as well. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Good Tour, Not The Right Fit For My Mother

I have less worries!!
The staff have gone above and beyond to help my sister. There is a Registered Nurse on site 24 hours a day. There is also a nurses station on each floor. The community is clean and well taken care of. They offer daily activities such as arts and crafts. They have transportation available. The food is good and they have a dietician on site to make sure the food is healthy. I chose this community because of the closeness of the medical center and the quality of care they offer.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Texas regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Texas regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Belmont Village West University 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
