Our families experience
What we really like about Barton House is that it is not a "big facility" it feels much more homelike. The rooms have very large backyard patios that are easily accessible. Based on the experience we have had so far with this community, we would definitely recommend them to other families looking for a place for their elderly loved ones.

Review of Barton House
I toured this facility, wonderful place. I want to place my family member here, but he is not to this level as of yet. I did receive a lot of great information, so then when the time comes it won't be so stressful on all of us. Barton House was so helpful, and everyone there cares. You can tell in the first few moments. Everyone there seems to be in great hands.

A forgotten treasure
I'll make this very short and sweet. Caregiver ratio seems to be five to six residents per caregiver and that's not including the Medtech or the LPNs and the housekeeping staff. I have experienced the food that they cook daily, I believe it's very tasty compared to a few big named facilities i have been to. The residents seemed to be happy, they have activities every day (multiple times). They have vendors coming in doing music therapy, massage therapy, pt, and pet therapy on top of what they already do there. They have an on-site barber shop and Beauty Salon, so that's always a plus. Backyards are breathtaking and peaceful. The rooms are huge and they are private! They have half bathrooms in them all, and wood flooring so that's always a nice touch.

Confidence in care quality 100%
Every time I have walked into Barton House no matter the morning the evening or late at night, the staff is always friendly and prompt and they're always with a resident no matter what. The facility is always clean and there is no odd smells, either when you walk in or when you're walking around next to the residents rooms. My favorite feature of the facilities is the backyards. They are beautiful, especially when there is fireworks from McCormick Ranch going off. I can sit down and eat one out of the four home cooked meals with the staff or my family member free of charge. I love that!

You get what you pay for!
I've had my family member there for a while now, mind you my family member has gone to two different assisted living/memory cares before Barton House. Barton House is like a group home on steroids, in the best way possible. The rooms are spacious enough for wheelchair and Walker bound residence; and their private! Which we all love, so we can have our own little party. The staff is so knowledgeable and caring that before we can even ask for something, they already know what to do or go get. All of them are trained extensively to handle any mental disorder, especially Alzheimer's and Dementia(our uncle is independent and is there for assisted living). We love the activities that they do for the residence(yes we play too), because they don't just tailor it to one person, they have multiple activities that are tailored to everyone. They do a lot of stuff for the veterans and they bring in a lot of different outside resources on top of what they already do within the walls of Barton House. Chaparral High School is right next door and that high school has a Barton House Club, which comes over and brightens everyones day. The only thing I regret is not finding this place sooner, it's like a home just a really big one. It's not institutional, and it just seems to be more fitting for someone that doesn't want the biggest and the baddest. It's still a big place and beautiful, but it's homie. It's warm...it's inviting! You get home cooked meals(which is rare now a days in a lot of bigger places) You can't beat that. The caregivers to resident ratio is amazing, that was one of the deciding factors for us! Affordable, and we can trust them knowing that uncle is getting the attention that he needs to keep social and active mentally and physically. Every time we go in, no matter if it's late at night or midday; he's always happy and there's always something going on! A+++

Even though my husband it is not where my husband wants to be he would rather be home this was the right choice for him. He is getting the care and attention that he is in need of. very comfortable
I chose The Barton House because it felt very comfortable and very homey. It is very small and personable, not big and institutional. They take very good care of my mother, which has enabled me to relax and focus on other things. She needs a lot of individualized attention and they provide it. They have really risen to the challenge and my mom has had a really good positive turnaround which we are very thankful for. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a good place for their elderly loved ones.

doing a great job
The staff at The Barton House are doing a great job with my step mother in law who can be difficult to deal with. It is a really difficult case because she has some mental issues, and that they have been able to keep her as long as they have without incident speaks very well of them.
