About the facility Barr Senior Courtyard
We are located in Orange County, city of Garden Grove in a very convenient location close to Senior Center, hospitals, malls, shopping centers, freeways-22 and 405, 10 minutes from Disneyland and Knots Berry Farm, 15 minutes from beach. Our facility is on a culdesac street, very quiet, a secure place, with lots of palm trees and flowers, big yard with swimming pool where we provide care and supervision for people with Alzheimer's or dementia disease.

Unprofessional
All I can say is the owner is very unprofessional! There are unethical and illegal activities there !!!! Do not place your loved ones there.
Facilities should not refer any patients to this place . Stay away from this owner

This place is a dump!
This place is a DUMP!!!! Your loved one will die quickly here!! It's falling apart and no obvious repairs have been done in years and years. Many of these board and Care Homes are rentals, this one is, which are always the worst board and cares.
The caregiving staff acts like they just came off the boat. They have a truly difficult time communicating with you and I bet they are not even making minimum wage.
When I toured, first the front house, It was in disarray -- had not been cleaned in weeks. On a client or you would expect the care staff to be on their best behavior. The two caregivers are watching TV with their feet propped up on the table. It was just 5:00 PM. No one was attending to the residents and when I asked for a tour the gentleman told me "to walk around" and went back and put his feet back up on the table to watch TV. They were in their rooms -- JUST LYING LIFELESS IN THEIR BED. The house is licensed for 6 and only 2 residents -- which the poor things look very unloved and unattended.
There was no dinner being prepared and no smell of food in the house. WHERE WAS THEIR DINNER? IT WAS 5 PM!!!!!
I was startled at his lack of concern. He was that of a lazy night watchman at a rundown hotel. Never doing any work.
The 5-star review of this place is definitely a bogus reviews by the owner in dire straights to get bodies in her homes.
I spoke to her on the phone prior to the tour and she was so unconcerned with me, would not answer any questions about the home and care and just told me to "go see". This place is not fit for any uman and I'm surprised the state of CA has not revoked their license as yet.

A good place to interact with other people..
This is a great place for my dad. It's a good place to interact with other people without the facility being big. It's a smaller facility, which is what we were looking for. The staff has been very accommodating to his needs. For each residents, they do different things based on their likes and dislikes. They were so helpful in the moving process. I would definitely recommend the Mirabel by the sea.

Perfect place for dad's needs
Mirabel By the Sea is a great place for my dad. We were not looking for activities but just to have a smaller community with people around. The staff has been great and he likes it there. We drop by almost every day and we are welcomed and enjoy talking and visiting with the staff. They were helpful in recommending a doctor since we had to move him from all another county and keeping us informed of his daily progress. He looks good and is eating well.
