We probably waited too long to move her. I don't fault, Aston Gardens, for not being the best place for her. The residents who were full capacity did not want to associate with my mother because she had dementia. This rejection was hard for her. \nWe had a full-time daytime caretaker, and eventually ended up with 24/seven caretaking, with my mother living in independent living. There was no way she could have lived in assisted living and been happy. So I think it's a hard thing to judge. I believe it is a good community and if you get there early enough that you can make friends, it would be a nice place to live. My mother could not remember who she met from day to day, was rejected from bridge groups ( she was a master bridge player earlier that night life) and many people rejected her from dining with them, etc. so it was hard for her to make friends. In the end, it was more deterioration of my mother's mind that caused Aston Gardens to be an odd place for her for end of life. But I don't think she could've stayed at Wilderness Country Club, even though we provided 24 seven care. It would have been very lonely and Aston Gardens did provide people and activities.
