So much more than I expected!
My visit at Asher Point was excellent. [name removed] took me on the tour and explained all amenities and details regarding how everything worked. Asher Point has so many scheduled activities for the residents along with a library, beautician, gym, and more. The cafeteria has a menu that is actually unbelievable. The menu offered at Asher Point is better than most restaurants, in my opinion. I was so excited about the place, I made an appointment for the next day to take my family member. It is especially nice that my family member could take his cat with him. There are not many facilities that allow pets, and that was important in my case. I highly recommend Asher Point. The staff is really friendly and they go out of their way to try to help residents. They have a lot to offer on site, and they plan so many activities for their residents. The food is incredible, and the financial side is affordable. I would pick Asher Point for myself.

I recently moved my elderly mother and disabled sister 350 miles across the great state of Texas to be closer to me. As selfish as it sounds, I knew that having family closer to them was in their best interest. I am so impressed with all that Asher Point has to offer. Meals, Activities, therapy, maintenance and housekeeping just to name a few. It is as if they are in a little bubble all self contained. But in a great way!
I recently hosted a private (family) surprise party for my mom. The staff was all so accommodating and helpful. The family was very happy with the place that mom was in. She feels safe here as well. Looking forward to the remodel and new look.

Moved canceled leave. Didn't work out. Had to move someplace else! Staff was nice though. Would recommend for someone more independent than I. Staff was nice though. Corporate management changing hands.

A good place for Mom
The staff is very caring of the residents and have numerous special events to entertain everyone. The cafeteria has had some disruption but serves wholesome and a variety of good foods. The condition of the facility is average, but they are making progress. They continue to make repairs but have limited staff for all the work that needs to be done. Overall, it is a good facility and we are happy with our decision in selecting Holiday Renaissance-Sherman.

"Treat this as a last resort"
Overall experience - Very poor, constant management turnover and the facility is in terrible shape. Constant water leaks and other sever facility issues.
Cleanliness of the facility - the housekeeping team is severely understaffed and cannot do everyone's rooms as scheduled.
Friendliness 3 overall the crew is mostly pleasant.
Quality of care there is no care provided at this site.
Food -most meals are edible but not anything I would recommend.
Activities -these are actually pretty good. Poker and bingo.
Value for the money- for the nearly 3k a month in rent, this facility is extremely overpriced, poorly run, and poorly maintained. I would not recommend this facility to anybody looking for a good value.
Avoid this facility if you can find a better option. It is far too expensive for the service level provided. A section 8 apartment and paying a full time care taker is a better alternative if you can manage that.

Nice place with spacious studios with a balcony deck
There have been some maintenance issues; but it appears to be under control. [name removed] is nice and usually responds quickly. It’s independent but my Dad has an agency caregiver and a nurse that come to him there.

Flood!
I would like to say that Every thing was fine until the flood. Frozen Pipes caused one wing of the first floor to flood. While my aunt was moved to another apt, her belongings sat in water for hours. Many of her memories had to be thrown out and most of her brand new furniture was damaged. Nothing has been offered to make it right. My aunt spent the last full day of life crying and feeling hopeless. We had problems from the very beginning of her two month stay. The apartment was not ready , there was electrical issues, we were promised a new stove, house keeping did not come to even take the trash out for two weeks.. everyone we ran across was very friendly and Finnly, the interim manager was very friendly but was understandably a bit overwhelmed. Had my aunt survived I’m sure we would have been able to work out all the little details.

Holiday Renaissance-Sherman review
The Holiday Renaissance - Sherman community has been an answer to prayer for our family. What we like the most is that our mother is in a safe environment with all her basic expenses covered. The staff is very friendly. Food is tasty. Love that our mom has the opportunity to interact with her peers through activities provided.

Biggest blessing of our life
[name removed] really understood our situation and was able to give us great information. They were vey patient with us because it took us a long time to come to a decision. She handled everything with so much grace and really wanted what was best for us and my mother in law. She is very happy here in her own space and it has helped her cognitively to have a routine again. Renaissance-Sherman has been the biggest blessing of our lives and we would highly recommend them.

Our family had an in person tour and the people we met with were lovely, and the meals were fantastic. However it is an old facility, the carpets are worn and torn and the cooperation just has not kept up with the interior.

Ready to move!
My relatives have lived at Renaissance for 2 years. Nothing we were promised has happened! Yet, rent has not been adjusted!. When residents ask for repairs, they are given excuses and more excuses. Fountain is nothing but a green, slimey cesspool. Only the great hall and dining room are kept nice. Horribly in need of updating. Now, they are letting in residents who are in need of mental help into what is supposed to be independent living. Rent for new comers has been drastically reduced. A total disaster! Notice dates of the reviews if you are considering this place!

Community could improve
The community is clean, and the activities are opening back up. However the building is aging and when we had the big winter storm they were without water for three weeks, so the toilets were not able to flush. The heat could not keep up and the meals during the freeze were very limited. However, they do have a new general manger there now so we are hopefully everything will get better.

Review of Renaissance-Sherman
Before the quarantine times, I would have rated our home close to great. Our office staff as short as ours is now (as well as maintenance and housekeeping and service) the staff cannot keep up the same when it did before. We understand, but it is difficult, at least now.
