Staff is very caring and polite.
I toured the community on a Wednesday and they had live entertainment for the residents. The staff were very claiming and friendly and attentive to every aspect of the fact. The marketing director was very helpful. The entire staff were GREAT!!

I have visited the community a number of times over the last few years. The smell is always amazing with the smell of freshly back cookies or popcorn. The staff is very welcoming and appreciate. I would definitely recommend.

Improvements needed
When pressing the nurse "call" button, slow or no response. I'd walk the halls to find someone to help.
Ran out of hand towels several times but all of the nurses denied having access to the supply room. Out of frustration, I wound up bringing paper towels from home.
Very poor communication between doctor's dietary orders & kitchen. Often, patient received meals conflicting with doctor's orders.

We had to move out
We recently moved our mom out of Arden Court. Until a few months ago, we were happy, however, with recent admin changes, the care has declined forcing our hand at moving out. The basic needs of our mom were not being met and we no longer had the peace of knowing she was being well taken care of. There were certainly a handful of kind caregivers, but without systems of accountability in place, some staff/and agency workers were not doing their jobs.

Went to the community for their 25th anniversary celebration. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The ED [name removed] is absolutely amazing with not only the staff but especially with the residents. Would recommend a loved one. I would also recommend to family members of patients at the facility I work at if they are looking for a memory care assisted living facility.

A Place for Mom has rated this facility at a 9.0
That must be an old rating when [name removed] was the Executive Director
First hand experience- Residents laying in urine soaked bed, bruises from falls due to lack of supervision, filthy hallway carpets that are freshened up with Carpet Fresh
Filthy floors in rooms, moldy shower mats, sun par meals, and worse of all, bringing in temp agencies to care for residents with minimal training and supervision
Hoping things get back to a place that deserves a 9.0 rating..right now sitting at about a 3

We use Arden court on a regular basis for respite care. They provide EXELLCENT care for my mother! All of the staff are patient and vert knowledgeable. They offer a variety of stimulating programs and activities for residents. Very clean and tidy as well.

I would not recommend right now.
The experience after almost 2 years has been very frustrating. Every aspect from getting medication for my mom, to the management has changed 2x and no one seemed to know what was going on. I asked the staff several times to have my mom ready for me to pick her up for a family event. When we arrived at 11 A.M. to pick her up she was still in bed. When I dropped her off at 3:15 P.M., the staff didn't even know she was gone. It was great in the beginning but the cost went up so much for what is offered. If I knew what I know now, no way would I spend that amount for that place. The changes in staff of the director and medical director have created a nightmare for me. I no longer have confidence in that place.

A great choice
Arden Courts Of Palos Heights has a beautiful physical facility but way more importantly, they have a beautiful administration and staff. Every person at Arden Courts who takes on the responsibility to care for your loved one does so with the utmost professionalism. You would need a thesaurus to describe all the attributes that are experienced by your loved one. Just a few words that would describe how the Residents are interacted with by everyone here are kindness and compassion. I see the underlying factor that everyone here exhibits is that each person has an amazingly beautiful heart. Every interaction between your family member and the Arden Courts administration and staff emanates from how much they care.

Arden Courts is a well well organization. From the administration staff to nursing, housekeeping, and dietary all of the departments have been very helpful to me and my wife. I have the opportunity to go to activities with my wife that is something that I appreciate. I mainly like the entertainment that they have weekly. I would recommend Arden Courts of Palos Heights to anyone looking for placement of a loved one in a memory care assisted living community.

My loved one was previously a resident at Arden Courts Memory Care Palos Heights and overall our experience at this facility was okay. However, I think that they set the expectations way too high and then could not deliver. My loved one did not receive the care that he needed and was told that he would get. I would recommend Arden Courts Memory Care Palos Heights to others if the potential resident assumed that they would only receive half of what they were promised.
