Avoid this care facility
This was a terrible place from day 1. I constantly made lists and took pictures of such things as wet diapers on the floor and unemptied urinals left in the room and beds not properly made!! I always had to ask for towels. I had to ask for diapers four times before anyone brought them. He had one clean one left. He spent most of his day completing unengaged as the programming was very weak!!!! It was obvious to me that most of the staff were not happy with their job. Almost no one smiled and some were just unpleasant. The only good thing the facility did was to refund part of my money when I took my husband out of there early!

Wonderful facility
My normally independent mother was suddenly hospitalized this year with back compression which resulted in the use of a walker. Due to her inability to adequately take care of herself we chose Aravilla for assisted living. Although it has been a shock for her to not be on her own coming and going as she pleases, she is adapting to having her own apartment and meals served. Her favorite part of the day is joining in Bingo and enjoying the daily live entertainment. Having her residing at a safe and helpful assisted living facility has also given her family peace of mind! Thank you!

Great caring Staff
With over two years of residence in MC my husband and I have been content with the attention and care he receives. The staff is great and patient with the "quirks" he exhibits at times. This is the only facility I have to judge but feel that they do a spot on job of cleanliness, health management, and meal variety.

Aravilla is a blessing for Mom and for us!
After my father died, I needed to find Mom a memory care facility. I researched all the facilities in two counties, reading not only reviews from families but state reviews and ratings.
Aravilla rated the highest of all and looked to be the nicest.
Mom, had just lost not only her husband of 64 years, but my brother a couple of months before that, as well as having to give up her dog because she was no longer able to care for him. We were concerned about depression on top of her Alzheimer's.
Aravilla has been a God-send! Mom LOVES it! she says the people are wonderful, she loves her room, the food is delicious, they have activities all the time and she is never lonely.
After only seeing photos online, I finally was able to visit in person and was blown away at how much better it was in person1 No wonder when my brother takes her out for once a week outings she can't wait to go back there!

Peace of mind
We placed a family member here seven months ago and have been pleased with the quality of care. The facility has a homey feel and appropriate activities are offered. If a question arises or something needs to be reported we have access to those in charge and receive prompt answers- this is important to those on the outside. This year has been challenging for the country and Aravilla has done its best to deliver on what they promise.

Aravilla
Aravilla is the best operated retirement community to live in Sarasota no question! My Aunt lived in the assisted Living accomodation apartments for many years at Aravilla, she was moved from Bayvillage which was nothing but a facade, night and day comparision, she was mistreated at Bayvillage and the hire up's did not address the many issues we had due to very poor management there. Aravilla is a safe enviroment, very hands on, their employees are well picked and work wonderfully with their clients who reside at Aravilla. [Name removed] executive director is amazing will always take your call! My Aunt has since been moved to Memory Care were she is kept busier then ever! And their nurses are all a God sents! my Aunt is lucky to be at ARAVILLA!!!

Mom is Happy
I looked at at least a dozen different facilities in the area and although many seemed very good my sister and I chose Aravilla. The environment is much laid back with many activities and good food. The first month was tough for her to get adjusted but now she calls it home. She is very happy there, and really, that’s all I can ask. It’s been over a year and so far it’s been great.

Awesome Active Community
After much research we picked Aravilla for my mother-in-law's assisted living. All senior living facilities seem to have challenges, especially now, but this one seems to be mitigating better than most. As a retired firefighter/paramedic I have seen my fair share of facilities and this one is above board. They are also a very active community. My mother-in-law seems to be enjoying the plethora of activities available. They are also one of only a few facilities that have no infractions.

Very Sad.....
In my opinion, the current management should not be operating a Memory Care residence. They very quickly medicated and moved my mom from Assisted Living to MC at there beginning of the pandemic. My mother remained over medicated and in a zombie like state for over a year. The house doctor refused to try mom on different medication, and after two serious falls, which landed Mom in the hospital, I was told by the doctor & nurse treating her, that a common side effect of this medication is balance issues & dizziness. During both hospitalizations, nobody from Aravilla even reached out to ask how Mom was doing. I feel that our mother deserves a more engaging & caring environment!.....We are finding the new residence much more proactive, respectful and understanding of dementia patients and their needs.

A safe and caring community
We chose Aravilla Sarasota Memory Care because everything was open so it was less of a fall risk for him. It is a newer building so everything is very up to date and nice. His room size is spacious, not too small not too big. I have eaten here before COVID and the food was good, they are chef prepared meals off of a menu. The best part about the community so far has been the safety protocols they have taken since COVID to keep their residents safe. I would absolutely recommend.

The best for a Loved One!
Should you be looking for a 5 Star Facility for a Loved One I suggest that you visit Aravilla......My Wife has resided at Aravilla for the past 18 months, she has a very nice clean apartment and is cared for by a very caring Staff....The food is excellent and she is kept busy with the many activities.....The Friendly Staff is always available, including the Executive Director and the Director of Nursing......My Wife loves Aravilla!

Excellent Health Standards and Compassionate Care
At this truly unsettling time, my sister is a resident at Aravilla ‘s wonderful memory care assisted living home. I don’t use the word home lightly. While her family, me included, are living in other areas of the U.S., she is bring well cared for by her extraordinary caregivers. Horrible treatment of patients and family
This facility should be shut down for its treatment of patients and their families. My father was in manageable health until this place loaded him up on meds and now he's dying. My mother is almost always berated by staff whenever she calls to speak with him, and she has to jump through hoops to get through. Today she was scolded and disrespected by a man after asking to speak with him. Shame on this facility for taking advantage of desperate families wanting the best for their loved ones.

In my opinion there is not enough staff to take care oof memory care patients. There is 1 Caregiver per 20 Patients it seemed especially so on afternoon and night shifts. There is one nurse in the building per 80 patients. My father was very weak. My father fell out of bed twice on a Sunday in early morning. I wasn’t called about the 1st time he fell at 3:30 am. Dad fell out of bed 2nd time. An aide found him on the floor when she went to get him up for breakfast around 7:00 am. Who was watching and checking on him. It was decided to take him to hospital. He was sent back to facility. My father died that Thursday.
