Ansley Park - AMAZING!
My mother and my oldest brother both moved to Ansley Park in January of 2023. We have been treated with kindness, dignity and respect from the second we made the decision to place our loved ones at Ansley Park. From the front office, the administrator, all of the nurses, CNA's, housekeepers, , Social Services, Activities, Beauty Shop, maintenance, kitchen, and therapists (I hope I didn't forget anyone - you are ALL amazing!) it has been the absolute best treatment, love and care that anyone could hope for! If you are facing the decision to place a loved one in a care facility, I can wholeheartedly recommend Ansley Park!

Worst place ever
This place is TERRIBLE. PLEASE PLEASE don’t put your loved one in here. They don’t pay attention to them and the staff are mostly trainees. They will let them lay in their own filth for hours. The management won’t do anything to help them either and if you disagree with them they will ask to leave. Again this place is TERRIBLE.

Beware!
BEWARE: When you do your first tour of this facility you will notice the beautiful landscaping, nice the building and furnishings. You will be given a personal tour by someone from Admissions. They will point out the beautiful and wonderfully equipped physical therapy area. They will assure you that your loved one couldn't be in better hands and will be dripping with honey over how happy they are to have them there. All that changes once you've signed on the dotted line and your loved one has been admitted. The CNA staff had complete turnover at least twice during our stay mostly due to chaos with Administration and scheduling and lack of support for the nursing/CNA staff. Rather than hire new staff - the facility fills in with CNAs from outside agencies. These CNAs are not working there long term and don't get to know the residents so there is constant chaos in patient care. The "call button" is a joke. It might as well not even exist. An "average" call light wait time was at least 30 minutes and that is without anyone even checking to see if it was an emergency. My Mom was literally left sitting in poop and pee for over 2 hours more times than I can count. Residents that need assistance are not gotten out of bed until at least 11:00 a.m. If you ask for an earlier time - they tell you they either had to stay in bed until at least 10:30 a.m. or she had to get up at 6:30 a.m. because the first shift had to handle breakfast trays. If I had a dollar for every time we heard "we'll get to you shortly ... it's shift change" or "we're short staffed" or "your CNA is on break" ... I would have made enough money to pay our out of pocket expenses (which were pretty hefty by the way). It got so bad that in addition to having a family member there every day - we hired a personal caregiver and then hired outside caregivers from Home Instead to be there with Mom 8 hours a day because we simply could not trust that Mom would receive the care she needed otherwise. Administration and Management is nonexistent. I saw the Director of Nursing and Facility Director only once the entire time. If they responded to emails or phone calls it was only after multiple attempts to contact on my part. The Admissions person I saw her three times during our whole stay one of those being the day we were admitted and one being the day we left. The food is terrible. My mother is a diabetic yet every day for every meal she was given high carbohydrate meals. They called these "diabetic" meals because she was able to get unsweet tea, coffee, sugar free ice cream and no concentrated fruit juice (which she still received with her breakfast tray every morning). Her blood sugars were like a roller coaster while she was in this place. She lost weight because she was afraid to eat what she was being served because of the effect it would have on her blood sugar levels. We were given exactly 1 week notice that Mom was reaching her 100 day Medicare limit and we would either have to find another place for her OR we would have to pay 100% out of pocket to keep her here. We had no choice but to pay out of pocket until we could find a suitable alternative. When we did discharge their social services department completely screwed up the discharge paperwork and were sending Mom to a facility I had never even spoken with. We also were billed $86 for a visit from their doctor for "discharge management" which essentially boiled down to the doctor coming in my mom's room on the day of discharge and say "oh ... I hear you are leaving us. Well ... good luck". I could go on and on and on but will leave it at this. I would beg of you to take a really close look at this facility before you admit your loved one. The Physical Therapy staff is the only redeeming quality of this joke of a facility. If your loved one needs therapy and is going to be dependent on the caregivers in this facility to provide day to day care ... I beg you to look elsewhere. I would hate to think of any other family going through what we did during our stay.

Need new nursing staff
I’m writing this review in hopes that the administration of this facility will wake up and makes some changes. While Ansley Park is a lovely place, the nursing staff, for the most part, is terrible. Being in healthcare myself, I have a tendency to give all personnel the benefit of the doubt, but I simply cannot in this case. I have seen laziness that is truly shocking, and when some of the nurses are asked to do something, there is immediate attitude to the point of “disappearing “ in the hopes that they can hide long enough to get out of the job. The only shining light I have seen at this facility would be the young CNA’s that end up doing the nurses dirty work. It’s such a shame, and a disgrace to healthcare! If you didn’t want to care for your patients, why go into nursing in the first place? Thinking seriously of reporting them to Joint Commission!

Everything that glitters isn't gold...
I honestly don't know where to begin. I guess I'll start by prefacing that I am the type of person who actively seeks the best in every experience, so before I cite my grievances with Ansley Park I will highlight some of the positive aspects of the facility and my family's experience. -If you come across any related review, most have positively highlighted the aesthetic of Ansley Park. It has a very regal and contemporary country feel to it that certainly makes residents feel comfortable and at home. -I appreciate some of the freedoms allowed to patients and family. You can spend any desired amount of time with your loved one, bring food for them to enjoy, and make use of the hall pantry without worry of anyone disrupting your personal items. Family members also have reasonable access to linen and room supplies which creates for ease in managing the patient’s basic care. -There is ample parking, and the facility offers lounge and leisure if tenants and family members tire of sitting in assigned rooms. -If you’re lucky, you will come across a few staff members who actually enjoy the important work of ensuring health, wellness, and comfort for the lives of those who need an extra measure of care and concern. I am not a professional caregiver, but the responsibilities I’ve inherited as a result of my mom’s limited mobility has heightened my understanding of what’s required to ensure quality care. In the spirit of full transparency, working in the medical and caregiving fields are not jobs and responsibilities for the faint at heart, so if any member of the staff or management is reading this, I strongly urge you to consider a career change if you are not committed to one of the most significant calls to duty—and that is prioritizing and valuing a life as much as you value your own. That being said, the next portion of the review comes forward sincerely and constructively. The level of skill, professionalism, and knowledge displayed by Ansley Park staff is subpar—poor even. When your loved one is admitted, the staff welcomes you with open arms and joyful hearts. At this juncture, they go over and beyond to ensure you that they are going to provide the best level of care for your loved one and to let them know if you have additional needs or concerns while you are utilizing their services. Note: The care did not reflect this promise by any stretch of the imagination. PATIENT CARE/STAFFING: There is no standard protocol for patient care and due to the high turnover rate, most of the caregivers and nurses are contracted through external staffing agencies. The staff members who are actually Ansley Park employees are few and far in between, and the staff who are placed through agencies constantly remind you of that they are external, seemingly to evade learning and doing their job with skill and proficiency. I think most of us recognize that patient needs vary. For example, I can very well understand how a patient who requires limited assistance with using the rest room, bathing, and getting dressed might tender a rating of 4-5. The facility is nice and relatively comfortable, so if you don’t require a lot of help, it can be quite suitable. But if you are on the opposite end of the spectrum and your family member needs considerable assistance, this place can be a bit of a nightmare. My mother is of sound mind, so that is literally the only bit of comfort I have when I am not there. I know that she can and will advocate for herself and we will certainly be supportive of her efforts. WEEKENDS: Patients are on their own for the most part and the 1-4 caregivers/nurses who may be working between both floors are generally nowhere to be found. I live about 33 minutes from the facility, so although it’s not a grave commute, it seems like the longest ride ever when my mom calls me to tell me that she hasn’t had a bath, cannot get assistance with basic needs, and has been ringing her nurse light for a substantial portion of the morning to no avail. OVERALL COVERAGE: Nurses and caregivers do not do regular rotations. You may happen upon a shift that actually does their job, but for the most part we (family) managed on our own. Occasionally we went into the halls to haunt down help (they are almost NEVER at the nurse’s station), but it just became our norm to do things on our own. There is generally limited coverage on the floor and when so when they encourage you to use the nurse’s light…it’s a joke. MANAGEMENT/ADMINISTRATION: Do they even exist? During the week, you may get your phone call answered if you call the facility, but it’s really a phantom operation in my opinion. There are photos of the director of nursing and administrator on the wall—but I’ve never seen them in person. SECURITY, SAFETY, and BASIC COVERAGE: I’ve honestly never felt unsafe or threatened but I remain concerned that the facility is not secure after-hours beyond the doors auto locking at 11PM. While it may not be necessary to have a full administrative operation, I think an investment in a security officer and front desk operator should be carefully considered as a 24/hour component of services and care. PHYSICAL THERAPY: The physical and occupational therapists and the gym are without question the 2 stars I’ve given Ansley Park. One might ask why we didn’t leave. A) Our family is very involved, so some of our discomforts and reservations were eased as a result. B) My mom was admitted with therapy as a priority and we were very happy with the provision of services in this regard. COLLABORATIVE EFFORT: There is an obvious disconnect between administration, nursing staff, and therapists. Patients and family members are forced to give the same disclosure about their conditions and needs and there is often a huge miscommunication with scheduling therapy sessions because there is no set and visible agenda (i.e. white board in room) listing patient goals. During the orientation and care plan meeting, a representative from each area of care should be present and remain active throughout the process. Overall—the facility has great potential and is positioned to truly help families care for their loved ones. However, the disparities in patient needs coupled with understaffing, and undertrained staff creates for problematic care and facility coverage. If this review means anything at all, it should be of paramount concern to management to improve organizational leadership and operations. If you have accepted a patient to your facility, it would be my expectation that the proper care is available no matter the scaling of their needs. A patient who needs assistance with using a bed pan should not be left to sit in their feces and urine because it is deemed that another patient’s emergency or need is greater. Skilled nursing and professional caregiving agencies generate a lot of revenue for the investors, private boards, and companies that manage them and it is both unfortunate and unfair that there is not a comparable investment in adequately employing skilled staff to provide the best care and services possible. It appears that Ansley Park is cosmetically appealing but has missed or ignored the need to be operationally sound, maintaining a true dedication to patient care. After experiencing what the facility has to offer and learning a little bit about the declining reputation and quality of services, it seems that the governing body has settled on having the appearance of quality care (i.e. new and modern facility) while offering the bare minimum to keep a regular rotation of patients instead of getting to the roots of issues and concerns raised. This is disappointing to say the least.

Stay away
I would never choose Ansley Park again. They play the he said she said or they’ll get back with you and they never do! I recommend if you have a meeting get the head of all the departments. But again you will have a meeting with resistance because they will not follow through with Anything that is discussed. You can never get a straight answer it’s always someone else you have to ask. Would not recommend this to my worst enemy.

Very Disappointed with managing group
My wife is presently at Ansley Park and her care has been very good as far as therapy and care in the room. The food is awful and nobody will listen to any complaints. They bring a menu, but even when you order, you may or may not get what they had on the menu. Food is usually cold. This week the main dining room was closed to all of the residence so a training session could be held for this facility as well as other facilities. No one knew anything about this until Monday morning. This shows that they are not concerned about the residents who are in this facility. I went to talk to the Director, but they were not in for the day. They told me they would let her know and she would contact me. I have not heard anything. I have reported this to the Chairman of the Board of this facility, but nothing has been resolved. He stated that they should not have closed the dining room and rented somewhere away from the facility for training. I also was a patient at this facility for three separate times, and once again the care was very good, but the food is not worth eating. It is bad when you have to bring food to your loved one, just to get a good meal. I am not the only person who is dissatisfied, but some others have told me they have worse complaints than the food, but once again nobody will listen as far as a management person. I hope this gets corrected. I have recommended this facility to several friends over the years who also went for rehab. They too were happy with the rehab part, but the dining situation is terrible.

Disappointed!!!
Just in the business for the money. Turnover of employees is never ending. They don’t keep long term patients clean. They don’t watch out for patients who are wheelchair bound. They hold quarterly meetings with family members but it is a waste of time. They never follow through with anything. Weekend workers are very scarce. They do not have enough help. CNA’s are constantly leaving. Meals never change. Same old, same old. Patients who have a hard time feeding themselves have no help. Laundry employees do a good job. One CNA, [name removed] is super. Cafeteria personnel leaves much to be desired.

Nice place, but?????
Too much turnover of CNA’s. Something is wrong with this. All of them have taken good care of our relative. Why are they all leaving? Are they not being treated with dignity, respect and fairness?????? Wish this would be addressed - they don’t talk about it - they just leave.

Happy with care and facility
Very satisfied and pleased with my dad's care. Facility was far and away better than any other we visited and he was happy with the care, which is most important. He was very anxious about going to a facility but could not say enough good things when he got to Ansley Park Health and Rehab. Enjoyed rehab, but said it wasn't easy. I told him it was designed to be tough. All in all, I'd send either of my parents here or recommend it to any family member or friend. 5*'s!

I have waited several months to write a review as I wanted to give this some thought rather than going off the deep end. I agree with 'Brian, 'T', 'UNBELIEVABLE'! This 'rehab center' should be shut down, the organization is a façade, phony & one that is 'playing the system'. I wouldn't send a dog there. Rude? They give new definition to that word. I visited my wife one day & the CNA said "oh, we found your wife on the floor this morning'. Hummm did you have her evaluated or did you just pick her up & place her in bed? 'Well, we took care of it'. Nurses (?) are (seem) on a vacation, sitting on their [removed] watching television, or nowhere to be found. Another review states ' Night shift staff on the weekends is awful! Giving wrong medication, not answering call lights, standing around laughing and socializing at desk while patients leave call lights on for half hour!! DO NOT STAY HERE BRAND NEW BUILDING NEW AND DRESSED UP-IT IS ONLY A FACADE!' These reviews are absolutely correct. I'd be surprised if they even bother administering the meds. Shoddy is too nice a word for these [removed]. Now for the other side ... The actual rehabilitation employees are pretty good in their job. Most if not all of those employees [seem] care about what they are doing, on time, do what they are paid to do, reasonably nice. I know that good help is hard to find however, no one told this company to run a rehabilitation center. Most likely this organization is getting what it pays for - garbage. If they cannot provide adequate care then consider another line of work. I notice the reviews are 'verified' by 'senior advisors'! Now just who would 'senior advisors' be? Someone within the same organization? Most likely. What are the 'senior advisors' doing to correct the lunacy? Apparently nothing as the reviews date back a couple years & the same issues are still present. Have a nice day folks!

UNBELIEVABLE
Please do NOT take your loved one to this facility. It is HORRIBLE to say the least! It may look all fancy but the care given is pathetic! Doctor??? I have no clue even if their is a doctor on staff! We were suppose to have a conference call within a few days of my fathers care, NEVER received the call or how he was doing! Every time I called to check on my father NO ONE had a clue who he was or what he was even in there for! Rehabilitation center???? It's by far that! Please do not let these people care for you or your loved one! Like I said, it may look all fancy but it is not worth the pain my loved one experienced! My father came into the facility walking and came out in a wheel chair! I took him out myself against medical discharge after driving 4 1/2 hours to see how he was doing. I could not believe the care and shape he was in. He looked like he was one his way out! These people are pathetic and this place needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!

I have had serveral friends that have had to use Ansley Park for their Parents. The Facility opened up in early 2013 and is a very upscaled Facility that offers the Best of Care and The Thearpist are highly skilled with the treatments they offer each Resident. The Friends that I talked with have said that their Parents had no problems with their stay and some wanting to continue to make Ansley Park their permanent home. They will continue to use the Facility if ever a need and will recommend to others.

Thank You
I had the pleasure of being a patient at Ansley Park. I have to say that the staff really do care about the patients. I felt like I was family to them. The therapist, CNA'S, nurses, and business office staff would cheer me on during my therapy sessions. The encouragement went a long way. I am truly greatful for all if them. I also really enjoyed playing Bingo. They asked me to come back and visit, and play Bingo. I plan on doing just that. I will also visit with the friends that I made while I was there. Without Ansley Park I would have never been able to return to my home. I will highly recommend Ansley Park to anyone I know that's needs rehab.

This place is a Joke
Well here is my story. My dad had back surgery about 3 weeks ago. He recovered well and was able to walk after his surgery. He went home after a few days from his surgery at Emry in Atlanta. While he was at home he fell by slipping on a rug in the bathroom. He went back to Emry to see if he broke anything and he didn't. So my sister found this rehab center called Ansley park in Newnan GA. He went in weighing around 160 lbs. after a week my sister called him and she could barely understand him. It sounded like he was on a lot of pain medication. So she went and drove to GA from TN. She asked one of the care givers what room he was in? And the care giver didn't have a clue who he was and was very rude. She sounded like a thug my sister said. So she went into my dads room and he was just laying there and obviously drugged way too much. He barely could move his jaw and could not walk on his own. So she asked the nurse that was in charge, What medication did they give him? The nurse didn't have a clue what they gave him So my sister looked at his charts and seen that they gave him an ungodly amount of pain meds. So she took him out right away and drove back to TN with him. That night I went to visit him at his new apartment and as soon as I walked in he looked deathly ill almost like a cancer patient would look. He started crying when he seen my two little girls and that's not like my dad. He was a Marine during the Vietnam era and he was a very strong minded man. He told me that the people there were very mean and were up partying in the lobby all night. They did not answer his calls. he soiled himself and they made my mom who was visiting clean him up. He said he fell out of the bed and no one came to see if he was ok. [removed]. While telling me this he was crying. So I knew I had to take him to the ER. He weighed 121 lbs. So he lost around 40 lbs in a week and a half and was malnourished and dehydrated. He has to have another surgery on Monday due to the care that was or wasn't given to him. I hope and pray that he makes it out of this nightmare. I would advise anyone not to go here. It may look new and clean but the care that is there sucks! Please don't put anyone through this. I'm trying to save anyone the heart ache of what has happened. These people will pay for what they have done.

Beautiful facility - Care is lacking.
My father was at Ansley Park for six weeks after breaking his hip from a fall. He was very independent before his fall, and were told at admission they would work to get him back doing everything he was doing prior to his fall. Many promises were made during the admission process that never came to pass. The rehab part is lacking, and I feel that much of that six week time period was wasted when he could have been making better progress at another facility. Nurses were not as attentive as they should be. We were told at the beginning that they would put a bed alarm on my father's bed to know when he got out of his bed without assistance. He was getting in and out of his bed constantly with no supervision - the alarm was never put on his bed. There were other incidents with nursing that were inconsistent..."right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing". There are some very lovely people who work at the facility and are very helpful, but it seems that consistency is the biggest problem. And it is a rehab facility, so that should be their expertise. Very disappointed. We have transferred my father to a different facility, and have already seen a big difference in the care he is receiving and the plan they have for his progress...night and day difference.

Disrespectful in the highest degree
Although this facility is new and impressive, their handling of the admissions process for my mother was totally inconsiderate and disrespectful. I called three times to inquire about the status of her application, and my calls were never returned. I then called to inquire about why she was not accepted. I was told that the person who reviewed her case was "in a meeting" and would call me. Once again, the call was never returned

weigh out against other facilities
This is mom's fourth day. I agree with reviewer who said night staff not nice. CNAs seem to lack training on how to properly move patient. Seem to be understaffed with long call bell wait at times. Also lacking in some supplies. Asked about understaffing and was told they are interviewing and trying to get more help. Also agree with reviewer who said some nice. CNA Mary is the best. Have met PA Cathy and liked her. Some nurses I've met are nice. With state of art equipment, if this place could get better help, they would be firing on all cylinders and be head and shoulders way high above the rest. With poor help, state of the art equipment pales. Let's hope they get staffed properly and really become the facility Newman hoped they would be.

A Place for Mom has scored Ansley Park Health & Rehabilitation 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
