I always enjoy visiting this community. There’s such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and you can truly feel the care and intention behind everything they do. One of my favorite things is seeing the residents’ artwork from their monthly Paint & Vino displayed in the common areas—it’s so special to see their creativity showcased for everyone to enjoy. I love coming back and seeing the new pieces they’ve created each month. It’s a beautiful reminder that this is more than a place to live; it’s a place where people are encouraged to express themselves and thrive.

Absolutely wonderful !
The staff and residents welcomed mom in with open arms. Every person we encountered was very friendly, warm, compassionate, comforting and it felt like a family immediately. The food, the activities and involvement with staff and residents is incredible.!!!! I would highly recommend Anchor Bay in EP!! [name removed] makes the transition seamless. His friendliness, knowledge and warm heart have made this experience perfect for mom. I have had another family member in Anchor Bay in East Greenwich and the experience was not good.

Taking the burden off
We moved my mom into Anchor Bay memory care about 18 months ago. Dealing with a parent who has dementia is challenging on many fronts. It has been wonderful knowing that she is known, cared for, safe and respected at Anchor Bay. The rest of my family feels welcome and a part of the larger community, which we treasure. While I do not wish anyone to go through such an experience, I do highly recommend Anchor Bay as a new home for a parent experiencing profound memory loss.

A Beautiful, Caring Place During a Very Difficult Transition
Placing my mom into memory care was one of the most emotional and vulnerable decisions I’ve had to make, and Anchor Bay at East Providence met us with kindness and compassion from the start. My mom has been here since [date removed], and I’m grateful she’s in such a warm, supportive environment. The facility is beautiful, filled with natural light, and thoughtfully designed to feel calm and welcoming. Its location near One Hundred Acre Cove and the surrounding water views adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Most importantly, my mom speaks very positively about the staff and how well they care for her. She truly feels looked after, and she also enjoys the quality of the food. Knowing she’s safe, supported, and able to participate in activities while I don’t have to worry about daily logistics has been a huge comfort. Anchor Bay has provided excellent care for my mom and reassurance for our family during a difficult transition.

Peace of mind
My family had to make the difficult decision almost 1 year ago to find additional support for my dad. We toured multiple facilities but Anchor Bay in East Providence appeared to provide the atmosphere and level of support that we had hoped for. While it took Dad several weeks to settle in, the staff provided us with tips to help him become more comfortable. Today, he is doing well. I especially appreciate the leadership at the facility. Nothing is ever perfect, but the door is always open to express concerns and issues are addressed promptly. We are confident we made the right choice for our loved one.

We were in touch with [name removed] for over a year. We were finally about to visit this Thursday but our seniors needs drastically changed and he would not be good fit. If [name removed] consistent compasionate professionalism is indicative of the quality of care - then Anchor Bay would be a great choice for a loved senior. He journeyed with us for over a year and even on our detour he took the time to refer us to places that would be a better fit for us. Thank you [name removed] - Anchor Bay is lucky to have you.

It took a few months for mom to acclimate herself to her new home. We are grateful for the care and compassion shown to my mother at this assisted living facility. Everyone is kind, attentive, and respectful, and they go out of their way to make my mother feel safe and comfortable. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere that feels like home rather than an institution. Knowing she is in capable and caring hands gives our family tremendous peace of mind. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for quality assisted living for a loved one.

My 93 year old aunt has been in memory care for a few months. It was a very start due to my aunt wanting to move back home. The staff always continued to encourage me and my family not to lose hope and she would adapt. Behold she is adapting. My aunt gets very good care and lots of attention. Don't know who to believe
Overall, we have been satisfied with the care our family has received. Lately there has been an issue with her health and we feel it has not been dealt with correctly. We have brought it up more than once and have been told not to believe the staff that deal with her. I have to believe that what they have said is correct because the issue has not been resolved yet. Tomorrow, she returns to the doctor, and we will get the right answer. We are sure the protocol for her issue has not been followed. Her comforter was supposed to be washed and at first we were told they couldn't do it. Then we were told they did. This information was not conveyed to us by the staff. All her clothes were supposed to be washed, and we know they were not. When we bring these issues up, they tell us a different protocol. She sits in the same chair in her room, and we believe it was never dealt with properly. To add insult to injury. they asked us to take her comforter and wash it.

Anchor Bay East Providence is awesome
Anchor Bay East Providence is a great place!! The facility itself is decorated in an inviting and pleasing way. The staff is knowledgeable, capable, very friendly and always helpful. The chef is a culinary phenom and creates delicious and varied menus. Each day is filled with various activities. There is always something happening from exercise to art to brain games to music, movies and bingo. There always seems to be a celebration going on, from a tea party to a costume party. On a more serious topic, the nursing staff is very involved and experienced. They do not hesitate to reach out to family when necessary. They are caring and compassionate. Likewise, the CNAs are always happy to help and they provide excellent support when needed. Anchor Bay is a safe, caring and nurturing facility.

The peace of mind I was praying for
From the moment I walked into Anchor Bay at East Providence, I knew it was a very special place and perfect for my Mom. Its bright, cheerful, open spaces welcome you with natural light and an atmosphere of community. The people who make Anchor Bay’s heart beat are amazing. From front desk to sales and marketing, administration, nursing, dining, maintenance, salon and activities, there is a cohesive harmony that provides continuity of care and an environment that is more like home than a “facility”. There is a focus on individual needs and a holistic approach to meeting those needs. No wonder the residents are so friendly and welcoming! I am truly grateful for everyone at Anchor Bay EP, for taking the time not only to transition my Mom to a new living situation, but to help me personally adapt and answer all my questions with patience, compassion and professionalism. Thank-You, Anchor Bay at East Providence!

Mom's New Home
Anchor Bay has really turned out to be a fantastic place for my mom. When she could no longer take of herself and the dementia got to point that it was extremely difficult for even family members to care for her properly, the family decided it was time to find her an assisted living facility with a memory care unit. I started touring numerous facilities to try to find the best fit for my mom where I thought she would feel most comfortable. After touring about six places I decided that Anchor Bay @ East Providence would be the best place. As soon as I first walked in the cleanliness and friendly staff stood out immediately. I just happened to be touring during an activity in the memory care unit and I thought this would be great for mom. Moving in was made easy by the staff and maintenance crew that are awesome. It took mom a few months to get adapted, but now she calls the place my home. The care staff are amazing and mom loves them all. Thanks Anchor Bay for everything.

I have been very impressed with the level of professionalism and responsiveness the leadership team at Anchor Bay demonstrates. In particular, Sean the primary contact for tours, is genuinely invested in making sure Anchor Bay is a good fit for both the senior and their family. [name removed], the administrator, is very responsive in answering questions, concerns, and communicating with residents and families. The Memory Unit at Anchor Bay absolutely fills a great care need in this area. If you or someone you care for needs Assisted Living, Anchor Bay consistently delivers.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Rhode Island’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Rhode Island’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
