Be warned
We have a family member in here, I cant say much good about the place. Always short staffed, changing all the time. but the biggest is that if you give them a deposit until medicated is approve, you will fight to get your money back. Its been 9 months and now I have to get a Lawer involved because every month there is just more and more excuses. Be warned.

Horrible and Terrifying
[date removed] I arrive at this location from Med City Plano after full left/hip replacement at [date removed]. I was greeted by 1 cna 3 hours later I still had no idea of a nurses name, if my meds information had arrived. Or how many days were aporoved. I settled in place fallen asleep I was startled awake after almost falling out of the right side of the bed at [date removed] I manage to hit the call button while hanging onto the rail (no response) I struggle to pull myself back in bed and the green light stayed on until a cna came into reset the call button. I then knew that this facility was unsafe. I file a complaint with the temporary Admission director, the Director of Nurses and immediately requested to be discharged and transported to another facility which I the patient had to check bed availability. I did not get moved Friday morning/afternoon/evening [date removed] as informed.- continue to part 2

Unhappy wife/widow
This place is a nightmare!!! My husband was admitted to Acel at Willow Bend and I wish I had never agreed to that. Upon arrival, he needed assistance and the aide [name removed] talked to him very rough and rude he called and I listened to aides talking to him like he was nothing and I had to interject then the conversation went in another conversation as if they actually cared. My husband was not showered the whole time he was there 5 weeks of bed baths????. They have no supplies needed for bathing. When I spoke with [name removed] about the aides she assured my husband and I that she would take care of it. Needless to say, she didnt. My husband feared his life, and I wish I would have taken him out then he didn't sleep so many nights I would stay on the phone FaceTime and pray for him while he slept. The nurses pass medications and don't know what they are giving you. My hisbamd was left many times in the bathroom for hours until the aide deceided to come back and get him. They thought my husband had a collapsed lung or pneumonia yet it wasn't enough of an emergency until they saw signs of a possible stroke and immediately they transferred him to Baylor Plano to get the blame off of them. I believe they gave my husband wrong medications intentionally because we would complain about the neglecte there. One nurse threatened him and told him not to be starting trouble ???? [name removed] his nurse when he was discharged was overly concerned about his diagnosis which I became suspicious about. Unfortunately, my husband never made it home from the hospital as we expected. Im not sure what really happened there bit all i can say is that everyone that have mishandled not just my husband but many others I ask God and I forgive them and may the Lord have mercy upon them. This place is not a place of rehab at all in which my husband got no rehab just a walk down the hall whenever they decided to come. I may not know everything but God does and I pray that they will repent of their neglect. I pray that this review will get into the right hands and someone will investigate these things. Too many lives are at stake and because of Covid-19 they are really slack and uncaring it's just a paycheck to many. Until they or someone they love experience this then they will have a understanding of how I and many others have felt. It's supposed to be a place of care and compassion and it lacks at everything they say they are. Lastly, I know someone tbat worked tbere 1 night and didn't go back be ause of the mistreatment, neglect they witnessed along with other issues. Please do something about this place. Not fit for anyone you love or even your enemies!!!

Thank You during this Pandemic
I thought about delaying this review until after the pandemic; however, as I tell my clients, there is no time like the present time. My mother has been a resident at Accel since [date removed]. I am a hands on person and am happy to report that even during this pandemic, the staff continues to partner with the family to offer the best possible care to the residents. We have a camera in my mother's room and I can say the service offered prior to the pandemic is the same quality of care. This applies not only to my mother but to her roommate. I want to give a big Thank You to the Admin staff, Nurses, Aids, Dining and housekeeping personnel. I look forward to when we can visit our family but until then, thank you so much for keeping our family safe and well cared for.

Wolf in Sheeps Clothing
This place is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Other patients said that they doesn't like it, but at first it seemed ok, until it wasn't. My mom was neglected. She fell and they took forever to get to her. She had oxygen that was supposed to be at 2, but they had her do therapy for an hour with it at 0.2. I could go on about what they did wrong. I insisted that she go to the ER, and they refused, insisting that they knew what they were doing...until they realized days later that she did have to go to the ER. The hospital was shocked as to why the place didn't send her there earlier. I had begged this place to send her, and they insisted they knew best. My mom never made it out of the hospital. I called for my mom's things, my calls were not returned. I went to the place to get them and I was told they couldn't find them. I was told by the lady to "go ahead and sue". It's like they knew that the tort reform would save them. I could have sued, but would have spent more money and heartache than we had to win. Don't trust this place.

Sad
My WORST mistake putting my mother in law here. They had me fooled with the beautiful facility and a great sales pitch of how great the facility is! There staff and upper staff is constantly changing that you don’t ever get to know any of them or know who to go to. They are always blameing each other for mistakes and your promised will change and be addressed. NEVER happens!! Come visit several times at different times and Walk through this facility past the front lobby look in patient rooms at the filth that they are kept in specially the weekend! You can’t sit in the chairs and enjoy a nice visit do to the diapers, wipes, gloves and what ever else the decide to just leave. Grossed out by the food and dishes left on her shelves just stacked with flies and knats all over it. Really I took pics to show my family !!! They also sent my mother in law to the ER with No person from Accell to accompany her knowing I was out of town. They sent 83 yr old Dementia patient sick and ALONE scared by herself!!! This place doesn’t care about the patients!!! They will use the excuse the patient refused to benefit their laziness of changing diapers and hygiene care of patients. Come on that’s why they are there to be taken care of. So just a friendly WARNING!! Do your research on this facility and don’t listen to what they tell you! They deny and dont remember what you tell them or they blame the staff member that’s no longer there!!! Talk to the staff aids and nurses most of them are contracted so they don’t know anything they gotta ask and get back to you! I’m shocked on how this place is ran and gets away with it.

Recommendation for Accel at Willow Bend
I am so excited to be able to say something about Accel at Willow Bend!! My mother was in rehab there in 2018. When she needed to go back to rehab, we selected Accel at Willow Bend in June 2019. This facility is a lovely place. The rehab is excellent and the Administrative staff is professional. I want to give a big Thank You to the Admissions staff, [name removed] and [name removed]. [Name removed] is the Admissions Director and is personally involved. He is great to work with and lives up to his word! [Name removed] is awesome as well!! When I was not sure if we could make this work, she gave me words of encouragement to hang in there; we are your advocates. Three days ago my mom became a resident at Accel of Willow Bend. I am a hands on daughter and I could not ask to work with a better staff on all levels (Admissions, Nurses, Business Management, Activities staff, Housekeeping, Dietitians, etc.) If you are looking for a place to take your family member or asked to make a recommendation to a friend, Accel is an Excellent choice! I was a Vice President of one of the largest financial institutions in the world so I know excellent Customer Service and Accel at Willow Bend gets my Gold Star(s)!! Thank you Accel! I look forward to writing many more praise reports for Accel at Willow Bend… we are just getting started and I could not be more pleased!!

Was fantastic for our mom
Our family has had our share of these places. I must say this place has been the best. It’s clean, people were amazing to my mom and after several weeks she got out today. They had a nice celebration for her. Very organized from the day she came in until her leaving today. I was really surprised to not see more great reviews on here for this one. Also on food... Most days she thought food was good to great. Sometimes not so good but overall I can’t say anything but good about this facility and all of the staff. Big thanks for taking care of mom who had 5 broken ribs, pneumonia and infection recovery. You all are great.

A Better Place for Mom
OMGGGGGGG what can I say about Accel of Willowbend, the atmosphere is amazing, warm and inviting. I am glad with the decision to bring my Mother here. The level of care blows me away. My Mother has already had physical therapy and saw the speech therapist on her first day. She will see the Podiatrist today, and schedule for vision and hearing as well. The whole atmosphere of Accel is professional, warm and friendly, everyone speaks to you when walking down the hall. The Staff here at Accel carry themselves Professionally and look the part as well. My Mother's room smells fresh and clean and she has more drawers space for her own personal belongings. Most of all, I love when everyone came in and introduced themselves and explain what their job is, some even just stopped in to say hi and welcome us here. but what really sold me was not just everything about Accel but in her gift bag were 2 food vouchers for the family to use at any time. I really like that, incorporating family time at mealtime, I would say Accel is family-oriented. Finally, they made us feel at home, l know that the care my Mother has received and how she has been received truly puts me at rest and gives me a peace of mind.. Wow! I love this place!!!

Very Satisfied
My mother recently stayed at this facility for rehab purposes. The staff was very friendly and the physical therapy she received was excellent. Everyone went out of their way to help her recover quickly. I do believe it would help if they added more nurses to help with the work load but overall it was a very good experience for us.

BEWARE - Do NOT leave your parent at this facility!
Under NO circumstances would I recommend anyone EVER place a loved one at Accel at Willow Bend Plano, Texas!! Our elderly parent was sent there for a physical rehabilitation stay. That experience was truly a worrisome and disturbing experience. There is clearly a lack of communication between departments, as well as a total lack of communication to the family. We felt like we needed an advocate for our family and parent each day we were dealing with Accel at Willow Bend. BEWARE. Take photos and document every conversation in writing!! Legal documents like medical power of attorney are not honored at that facility. Be certain to check the typed case notes for accuracy. The only employees we encountered during the entire stay who deserve praise are [name removed] and [name removed]. We have cared for both elderly parents, and we have Never experienced such a disturbing situation. Having a parent at Accel At Willow Bend Rehabilitation left our family feeling we had lost control of our parent's health care or any opportunity to protect our parent. Attempting to obtain a proper and timely discharge from [name removed] was a nightmare!!! [Name removed] told us our parent was ready for discharge. Upon arrival, we were told there were no discharge papers, and that taking our parent would result in a discharge AMA. This happened three times several days apart. Double check medications sent with you upon discharge against the list given at discharge. We were dumbfounded! It appears there are also serious organizational problems at Accel at Willow Bend Plano, Texas. This was certainly an eye-opening, unprofessional, and very disappointing experience!!

Beware ...looks can be deceiving
Don't consider this place for your loved one if you have anything but simple rehab. This is not a facility for individuals requiring high levels of attention. While the facility is clean and the staff is friendly, I am not sure why Medicare would rate this facility so high. The patient to nursing staff ratio is about 21 to 1. Employees are overworked and do not have the time to attend to patients. For example, my mother was taken to the hospital and we only became aware of this when the hospital called us 5 hours later.

Be careful in choosing this facility
Please read all the way through this review as it is very important for people to realize what this facility is like. I am in rehab recovering from double knee replacement, and have been at Accel at Willow Bend for 15 days now. My doctor required rehabilitation after having double knee replacement. So his nurse recommended this skilled nursing facility. I have been to physical therapy 6 days a week and sometimes on Sunday. I really wanted to give this place a good recommendation, because the PT and OT were wonderful. I am fully walking and can do everything for myself thanks to the excellent therapist. However, I did a lot of my own work when I went to therapy. My problem now is they will not release me to go home, even though my therapists have been wondering why I haven't gone home sooner. Therefore they are [Removed] that my outpatient physical therapy will not be covered by insurance if I go home without their approval. I live 2hours away from this facility and Christmas is coming up. They say they are worried about my welfare even though I am doing every thing on my own. If they were so worried about my welfare, then why do I have to wait an hour or more to get my medications? Why do I have to chase down a nurse to give me my night time meds when she delivered everyone else on my hall 2hours earlier? Why do they continually run out of my medications? Why can't they give me the correct medications which occurred every time I got a new nurse? And the worst of all, why did one nurse get angry at me for asking for my medications twice in a 2 hour period and he responded with throwing my cup of water in the trash, causing it to splash on me, my cell phone, and my iPad? And finally, why do the nurses lie to cover up their mistakes? One nurse did not know the difference between ecotrin and aspirin. Yes, we did let supervisors know repeatedly when all of these things happened except for the nurse that got angry. We were worried about the nurse making it even more difficult for me. So the facility is not that concerned with my welfare as much as the money they can make off my insurance. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of the therapy. They are wonderful if they have the time to work with you. They are under staffed in all categories of health care.

Not a good experience!
While my husband was at Accel, it was not the best experience. It was a very bad experience and they just do not have enough help. When my loved one would press the button to get help, it would be up to an hour before anyone would show up. There was a time where I was not able to get water for him for a whole weekend. They really need more help!
