Pet friendly and always clean!
The biggest deciding factor in going with Abbington Manor is that they are dog friendly. I know my Mother could not be without her dog. I really like this facility and they do a really good job. They try their hardest to keep all of the residents engaged with one another. Anytime there is a problem, they are very quick to respond. I can’t tell you enough how well the staff members treat my mom. They’re always friendly, warm, and welcoming. They do a pretty good job on the food as well. They serve 3 meals a day and for each meal they have 2 separate times for people who are early birds or late risers. This facility is always clean, it looks good, and it’s shiny. I would highly recommend this facility.

Very compassionate and supportive.
My mother passed away in January and they have been very supportive and compassionate during this difficult time. My father is still staying there and we feel comfortable having him in their care.

Best Value for the Money
After my 96 yr old sister fell and broke her arm, we had to find a care center for her. Not only did it meet all our requirements of cleanliness, friendliness, and attentiveness, she has decided that maybe she could live there full time as she was becoming more and more anxious about living alone again. Fortunately, she is very close to family and has had more company than she ever had living at home. The price was also very reasonable as assisted living centers go and we had checked on several. For her it was the right choice. She is actually enjoying the activities they provide as well and enjoys the food.

Our Tour Here
They were the oldest facility we saw but in a nice place in town. The room they had available opened into a back alleyway, we thought this was not pleasing. Otherwise, they were nice to meet with a they were a very nice place to visit.

We used for respite for my mom
On all levels, Abbington Manor was outstanding. The community is very clean and the caregivers were very good with my mother. The level of care was excellent. We felt that it was a really good value, based on respite rates. We've used them when I had to go out of town. Knowing that she was cared for took stress away from me. My mother is still having physical therapy at home. While she stayed at Abbington Manor, she enjoyed games, having her hair and nails done and from time to time, the community would bring in entertainment, which she really liked. I would definitely recommend Abbington Manor. We would like to have her stay there in the future, but they are currently full.

They've just been great!
They've just been great! They have done an excellent job helping mom transition, not letting her hide in her room, and getting her out and involved. That was very helpful to me. I am so happy with the experience. If there is anything I can think of to recommend, it would be more fluid communication at the start. This was a brand new experience for me and there was a lot to take in and I had a little trouble grasping it all. We are very happy with our experience and would highly recommend Abbington Manor.

Friendly and helpful staff, great location & beautiful grounds. Inside is outdated & not very clean, also smells stale. Like the ratio of CNA/residents. Didn't see a lot of interaction among residents, however, it was getting later in the day.

Everybody is extremely friendly.
Everybody is extremely friendly. One of the reasons we chose them is because they like to get them out of their rooms and the activities coordinator is there all day doing stuff with them. I am really, really happy with them. Their executive director was really knowledgeable, and their philosophy is great. It's a real comfort knowing he's O.K., and we don't have to worry about him all the time.

As I began the process of identifying an assisted living facility for my parents, I wanted to find a comfortable environment that would allow them to maintain their independence yet still provide assistance as needed. I was immediately impressed with the knowledge and responsiveness of the administrators. They directed us to resources to help with financing, they took the time to answer our questions and provided guidance at every step along the way. I was especially impressed with the way the way the staff interacted with each other and with the residents. It was obvious that they love what they do and go the extra mile to ensure that their residents are comfortable and have everything they need. I'm so glad to find a place that offers peace of mind to the residents and their families!

Accept VA Benefits
The community itself is a B. The room our loved one is in is large, nice and a good value. The rest of the property is old and not decorated very well it is actually a little depressing. The dining room tables are too high for the residents. The care they provide is good and the staff is good. We picked this community because it was affordable and they accept VA benefits, which not all communities do. The activities are ok and the food is good. They are also conveniently located for us. Overall we would recommend this community.

New flowers for everyone!
The rooms are really small and pricey but have an at home feel to them. Other than that everything else is great. The people are nice make it a point to learn everyone’s name and include as many people as possible in activities. The grounds are nice. When we checked in mom the owner was outside planting new flowers for everyone. The food is great; mom tells us how they are always feeding her.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Utah regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Utah regulations for Assisted Living.
