Residents residents purposefully kept in the dark
There is no communication with residents, no staff communicates with residents. Synergy had scheduled disconnection of hydro. Health unit had to come to the building to order the owners/staff that they had a certain time line to have the chiller/air conditioner turned on. Other complain about the meals only one housekeeper for all the units in the building. Again only once elevator after sit pipe almost 2 months later no rectification of the damage. Out of the blue just starting now.

Not what it was
McKellar Place since new owners have taken over is a disgrace to the residents as well as has gone downhill directly and quickly. They advertise that is fully air conditioned. It is not. They do have a chiller/air conditioner but they refuse to turn it on. With apartments 82 83 or more due to the fact they won't trim it on. It isn't safe for seniors to be in apartments especially since most of the apartment windows do not open. There is only 1 elevator for at least 80 people all to go down to supper lunch whatever. The other has been broken for over 2 months. Been told it will be fixed today tomorrow today and it never is. They have much and supper meals for the residents and a continental breakfast that opens at 7. No stoves in the apts but can have a microwave. I definitely do not recommend this place it is unsafe and so many times residents have been told it will be turned on today it will be fixed today ect... And none ever come to reality and happen.

A Place for Mom has scored Vickers Manor Seniors Community 1.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
