My senior friend is one of the newest residents of Stratford. She resisted moving for a very long time, despite the fact that I frequently told her the story of my parents, who spent a very long time living at[removed] before deciding to move to The Stratford. Every member of the team, from the initial point of contact to the local management team to the rehab team, has treated us as family and has really made the transition to her new adventure in life easy. She was overjoyed, and I'm happy for her because I know she made the right decision. I respect those who are dedicated to helping our older generation age gracefully.

The Stratford is a superior community. My company has been a vendor with the Stratford since 2010. Every time I have had the pleasure of visiting the community. I have been impressed with interactions with staff, how caring and nurturing they are with each and every member. Their exceptional style of living unlimited amenities, a social calendar that activity engages each member, and a premier wellness program, It's noticeable that from the executive director to the managers and staff their goal is to provide a high quality of life for everyone that lives there.

My mother has been in the Independent Living community at the Stratford for a month now and it has, without question, been life changing for her. My dad ( her husband of nearly 60 years) passed away from Covid in November and she was devastated. After a car accident in early February she was faced with the fact that she wouldn't be driving anymore and at that time we suggested that she move to an independent living community. We visited The Stratford and she immediately knew this would be her new home. The facility is amazing. Her apartments feels like it was tailor made for her. Most of all...the staff is amazing. [name removed] stepped right in to guide us through the process and there are simply no words to express our gratitude for making what we thought would be difficult transition he best decision we ever made. Last of all, the activity schedule is incredible. There is something for everyone. The best thing we continue to hear from our mom on a daily basis is that "she will have to pencil us in' Thank you Stratford!!

The Stratford has been my home for twelve years. i feel very fortunate that I chose to become a resident at Stratford independent living. During these 12 years I have been very happy developing many new friendships which I will always cherish and remember. Both the Executive staff and the employees are always very courteous and helpful when you need a 'helping hand' The daily programs, outings and get-together activities make life at the Stratford very rewarding. {name removed}

We are very pleased to have chosen the Stratford for retirement living. Our large apartment is comfortable, the food is good, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. As newcomers, we have not yet had time to participate in more than a few of the many activities offered. We are, however, making new friends and anticipate an active life here.

During my last four years at the Stratford, I have made new friends, eaten wonderful food, and participated in fun activities ( I just now got back from an ice cream social in the Courtyard, for instance and Sunday evening my husband and I will walk across the street to a live concert in Reagan Park. Totally gone are any concerns about personal security, home maintenance, or concerns about what I would need to do as I got older. In short, it's freedom. It's fun. Its the Stratford!

The Stratford is a 1st class place to call home. Our apartment is great with a park right across the street. We have more activities than we could ever need. Nice not to have a house and yard to worry about plus we have fantastic dining. It was an excellent move for me as I met my wife here. I recommend that you take a look and visit us in the village of West Clay in a top notch community of Carmel.

My husband and I moved to the Stratford in Caramel, IN nine months ago from Kalamazoo, MI which had been our home for 46 years. We thought long and hard about relocating to a city we had visited only twice before coming to see the Stratford. However, family won out and we made the move to a charming cottage where I can putter in our patio garden and enjoy the feel of a friendly neighborhood. We found that many of the other residents had made the move to the Stratford for the same reason we had: the proximity of family. People had moved from Illinois, New York, Ohio, Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin, Georgia, Connecticut and other places. We have found the residents here to be friendly and welcoming and eager to involve us in community activities. Now that most of the Covid restrictions are behind us, we are enjoying meeting other residents over dinner and at social events in the main building. The dining room is beautiful and we especially appreciate the availability of the private dining room for special occasions and family visits. The staff members at the Stratford have been very helpful- from assisting with hanging pictures when we first moved in to quickly responding to requests for small repairs to driving us to doctors offices. We especially appreciated the meal delivery to our cottage during the time the dining room was closed during the pandemic. The young people who work in the dining room are enthusiastic and friendly. Actually staff [name removed] were very helpful before our move with answering a multitude of questions and giving good advice to help us make a smooth transition. We both are impressed with the emphasis on healthy living including daily exercise classes with excellent instructors, the availability of an on-site indoor salt-water swimming pool kept at a very comfortable temperature, great equipment in the exercise room, planned weekly walks in area parks and on-site physical therapy. In short, the Stratford is a great place to live and we look forward to many more happy experiences

I have had quite a long history with the The Stratford. My mother first became a resident there in Skilled Nursing when she arrived quite ill with complications from cancer. She then progressed to assisted living and now after 3 1/2 years my mother is well enough to move to Independent Living! So many employees made these transitions a positive one through the years and now mom is enjoying lots of activities and meeting new people. Her move into independent living took lots of effort, and mom was greeted in her new beautiful apartment so graciously. She was welcomed with a gourmet food basket and was helped by many of the employees and administrations with her move. I am so grateful that she is taken care of when needed yet has many opportunities to meet wonderful new friends. Thank you, Stratford community!

I had been familiar with the Stratford and knew, when the time came for me to move into a community, it would be the Stratford. Having been a resident for about a month, my expectations we not only met but exceeded. From the moment you enter the lobby, you can feel an air of congeniality from both the staff as the residents. It was important for me to be able to maintain my level of independence. I knew this might be a challenge as I gave up driving when I moved. However, the Stratford had that aspect covered for me. Not only do they offer transportation services but they do so free of charge. Now I can still get to drs appointment, shop for my own groceries and handle my own pharmacy needs without having to rely on my family. In addition , there is a continental breakfast waiting for me every morning as well as a full schedule of activities to take part in. The Stratford also offers added companion care services through their Live long well care department. While I didn't need the additional services for long, I was thankful that they were available to help when needed. I am so happy with my decision to move the Stratford.

I was in need of a senior living community as my husband had passed and I was living alone. I had friends who were living at three different facilities but now it was time for me to make a decision for myself. I visited all three but after spending time at the Stratford I knew it was for me as it met most of the criteria I deemed desirable. It's a rental community, offers underground parking, the dining room, card room, library and other offices are not far from the elevator and it has a heated pool! There is also a beautiful courtyard right in middle of whole facility. Those were the items that initially attracted me to the Stratford but, since moving here I have found so many more features that I didnt know existed. The staff is wonderful. They are friendly and always ready to help with anything. The social activity program is the best! we take all kinds of trips on our own bus. We have special celebration dinners, happy hours, painting and crafts classes and are within walking distance of a cute little village and it's shops. What more could I ask for? This is such a friendly place! This is the Stratford! This is home!

I spent considerable time looking for a place to stay after living in a house for 30 years. After interviewing at least six other facilities. I chose the Stratford and after four years here. I'm very glad I did. My first reason for choosing the Stratford is that it is strictly a rental facility. Other positive points are their underground parking, wonderful formal and casual dining options, nice sized units, great staff, very friendly residents and a large activity schedule which can keep you as busy as you might want to be including trips to the grocery, drug store, and bank etc.. and all are free. The Corona virus was a problem, of course, but was handled extremely well. They also have a Newcomers committee to help greet new residents and get you started on life at Stratford.

I can't say enough about the excellence of the Stratford. Our parents have lived in the Independent Living section for several years, and have reached the point where they need additional care. The team of {names removed} has helped us in reaching the best decision for our parents unique situation. Although these four have a thousand different demands on their time and attention, they made us feel like we were the most important people in the building , meeting with us and guiding us through the complicated and sometimes difficult decisions we had to make. From the front desk receptionist to the maintenance worker who calls my mom by name, you wont find a more supportive, dedicated group of people to entrust with the care of a senior family member. My siblings and I know that the primary goal of the wonderful people at the Stratford is to provide what is best for each resident, and we are confident that there is no one better to offer this level of quality and personal attention to our aging parents.

{name removed} and I moved to Stratford in January, 2021. We had spent time looking for an independent living home. Stratford was our choice. When we arrived we met { name removed} and believed we made the correct choice. {name removed} made sure we had everything we needed. Her kindness and assistance was far more than we expected. While we have not been here for a long time, our experience so far has been very good and we are happy with our choice. We give Stratford a Five Star rating.

Outstanding Staff
During these difficult days of COVID the staff at Stratford's Independent Living has gone above and beyond to support its residents. They are helping my mom with the tasks that I used to do. Even when residents have been unable to leave their apartments due to the virus, [name removed], activities director, has found ways to bring his fun- loving spirit to residents. In addition [name removed] connected my mom's computer and printer. She is writing again thanks to his help with the technology. [name removed] helped to set up mom's Christmas tree. [name removed] offers crafts when it is safe to gather, and [name removed] has been attentive to any maintenance requests mom has had. [name removed] have been quick to answer my questions . [name removed] at Live Long Well Care and her staff are available should mom need the reassurance I can't offer. I am grateful to all who have supported and encouraged mom during these pas 10 months.

Carmel's Finest - The Stratford
The Stratford of Carmel is 5-stars in every respect! It was the perfect place for my parents to transition from their large, long-time home -- enabling them to downsize their life, but retain the elegance and upscale living they had been accustomed to. Never did I imagine they would enjoy retirement living so much. From programming to fine dining to every amenity and service, the Stratford has it all. Most importantly, Stratford's people make all the difference. They are kind, caring, compassionate, ready to attend to every need, and ever-aware that their community is full of people that lived interesting and varied lives. They treat every resident with the respect and nurturing they deserve. The Stratford is top-of-the-line retirement living in wonderful Carmel. Bravo to our forever-friends at Stratford!
