About the facility
The Caring Place

The Caring Place is a senior care community in quiet Franklin, Pennsylvania. Our community is filled with beautiful rose bushes nestled in red mulch, a feature residents can admire from their bedroom windows. Built in 1995, our red brick building with its grand entrance creates an inviting atmosphere for visitors and residents. The Caring Place borders French Creek, which is visible from residents’ second-story rooms. With a myriad of different experiences in health care, our therapy-focused caregivers create a committed, collaborative team monitoring and creating adjustments to residents’ care plans. Our joyful, active atmosphere is apparent right away, as visitors often hear songs from famous musicals as residents dance along in our lounge area. Discover all our charming community has to offer!

Living Amenities

We offer a variety of living options tailored to a resident’s particular needs. All residents living under our personal care have access to spacious bedrooms they can personalize according to their style. Some rooms feature bright, floral bedspreads and family photos, while some residents choose to display their military decorations earned from years of service. Residents may choose a private or shared room, each with a large window allowing natural light to fill the space year round....

Patient falls
My mother in law fell out of bed they stated they would do something about it. It seems they did nothing other then talk her into hospice care without us knowing about it. She has now passed away, they say suing this place is not worth it so don't send anyone there a church owns it and it's over [amount removed] a month

A truly "caring" place
I have found that The Caring Place is staff by people who truly care about the residents. My mother is now resident there and the staff has treated her very well. This includes the nursing staff, cleaning staff, and dining staff. She has been other places and The Caring Place is a cut above. I'm disappointed in the review that gave this place a 2 star review after only a tour because it didn't meet her "vibe" test. That is so unfortunate. The Caring place is not a new facility and not a vacation home, but it does provide wonderful care in a clean environment and is staffed by caring people. My mother is happy and so am I.

I Toured This Community
The community was more on the expensive side but had no private rooms, the cheapest room was two nursing rooms put together. The community felt dark due to bad lighting and overall I just did not get a homey vibe that I wanted for my loved one

Great experience
I have spoken with them a couple times within the last few months. The staff were very responsive and thorough and did everything that needed be done and that they said that they would do.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored The Caring Place 6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
