Pros and cons
Staff is very friendly, program director is fabulous ... housekeeping which is advertised for weekly of every apt is horrible !!! Better off not having it or hire better company !!
They have a few different sizes of one bedroom apartments, very small to large and then 2 bedrooms as well.

My family and loved one had a wonderful experience with Solstice Senior Living. The staff are extremely caring, thoughtful, and patient to the residents and families. Everyone here is very friendly. They provide meals for the resident as well. Overall, this is a community we would recommend to others for their loved ones.

A Beautiful Place
Solstice of Guilford is so welcoming! My cousin has been on the waiting list for an apartment and we got the notice of availability and are so excited after we had the tour. The grands are gorgeous as the inside with the fireplace and dining area....and the people, just wonderful.

A positive experience
The friendliness of the staff members and their helpfulness to this day has been amazing, if we have any type of questions or concerns we can bring it to their attention and it is solved right away. A wonderful experience
I was very impressed with the physical facility and the staff when we came to tour Solstice. The overall value to the money here is amazing. The apartment is plenty big enough for my parents needs. Every single staff member has been extremely friendly and pleasant to work with. I would recommend Solstice to others and already have.

Check it out first
This community is the most bang for your buck. I was shocked at how much some communities are. It is independent living but they have all the services in case you do need them. This is a beautiful community and a beautiful neighborhood the rooms are very large also. It is a nice size room and a kitchen also and it is half the price as some of the other communities out there. check it first but if you need to see the others you will end up back here.

They are genuine
The value for the money is 10 stars, it is amazing how nice the community is with such little money - it is very reasonable and something our loved one can handle. Everyone there has been so accommodating and nice, our loved one had to leave for a month to recover from a broken hip and when she got back they had a welcome sign and welcomed her with open arms. They constantly check in with our family. She loves it there, her unit is lovely, the view is great and well kept. The location of the community is great. Once she is able to resume the activities it is going to be fantastic. They have so many different things for all their different interests, they have movie nights, outings, speakers, entertainment and so many different board games.

So far average.
The staff are very friendly. And the residents are friendly as well. Transportation sometimes needs to be a little more desirable. They can only take so many people at a time on the bus, and sometimes people just get on the bus to ride and don't even have shopping to do or appointments to go to. And that takes away from those who really need to go. I like my apartment very much. It's a nice size, and bigger than one we had previously at a different place. I think they need better maintenance people, but I know they're trying to hire people and are having problems finding applicants.

Highly recommend
We chose Solstice Senior Living because they felt more like apartments. They are personalized to a degree for the residents that they have. The staff were very friendly and the facility itself is beautiful and does not feel like a nursing home, it was exactly what we were looking for. My mother in law is very happy here and we have had a very good experience. I would recommend to others looking.

My review of Solstice Senior Living at Guilford
Solstice Senior Living has been absolutely wonderful, they have really gone out of their way to meet every single one of the residents needs. They were pretty strict during the pandemic but they have kept the residents safe. Almost 80% have fully been vaccinated. We feel very safe with our parents being there, the director is just one call away. No matter my needs or requests everything has been met. They are truly awesome.

Awful food
Daily chef-prepared meals from scratch? If frozen is "from scratch" then that is true. But still, the food is terrible for most of the time.
"From pleasant housekeepers, to attentive servers at mealtime" - housekeepers are servers and servers are housekeepers.
Nobody cares about what residents have to say - they and their families are asked for patience all the time. It used to be better but now it became a terrible place.

The Gables has NO GENERATOR!
My parents moved in last summer and it is a nice place and staff but a few major issues since Solstice took over for the Gables
1 - this location is down a country road miles into thick woods --THEY DO NOT HAVE A GENERATOR! - it was promised back in January 2018 and sure enough the power went out and residents only had hall lights, NO HEAT AND the elevator didn't work for days- so , my father who can barely walk had to almost be carried down the stairs when I picked him up and drove them out of there to safety and our home - this is a total disgrace and epic blunder
2 - Despite constant complaints, the food is still terrible - my dad: "I had better food in the Navy' - and the portions are sparse
