Unfortunately I signed the contract under daress as the hospital wanted her discharged that very day. The staff forgot to give me a copy of the contract and I had to ask for it after she passed away. I was hoping some of the [removed] would be refunded due to such a short stay with only a little care, but the contract stated NO REFUNDS for any reason. The staff said to call the owner. The owner NEVER picked up or returned my calls. I just wanted to ask her in person about possible refunds of just part of it to help with burial expenses, but she showed no respect by screening my calls. Honestly would have been fine if she just told me herself that no refund would be given. I felt unimportant and disrespected when my call was not returned. I wish we had found them sooner.\n\nNorthGate is more of a home than a facility. It’s size, and limited number of residents, results in a very high caregiver to resident ratio. And Mom is never more than a few steps from the nearest staff member vs. the long hallway away at previous large facilities. \n\nNorthGate has an incredible team of knowledgeable and compassionate caregivers. Three of Mom’s visiting hospice nurses have each stated that NorthGate is one of the best facilities they have ever visited. That carries a lot of weight.\n\nIn addition to the phenomenal level of care Mom receives from the team at NorthGate, her family benefits from the peace of mind in knowing Mom is in such good hands. Mom can no longer thank NorthGate’s owners and caregivers on her own. So, on behalf of her and her family, we are blessed to have you in our lives.
