Meet Our Founders Dr. Mark Huntsinger PT, DPT and Yola Robert, FDN-P are a husband and wife team that started CareWell out of their own necessity and personal experiences. Dr. Huntsinger has had his own Los Angeles-based practice working with patients and their caregivers for over a decade. Dr. Huntsinger was always involved in training and supporting his patients' caregivers. He was also often asked if he knew hard-working, caring caregivers by his patients and their family members. At the time, he only knew the ones that were already working with his patients, and he recognized a need for more accessible, expertly trained caregivers in Los Angeles and Orange County. Because of this experience, Dr. Huntsinger is very passionate about connecting well-trained, hard-working caregivers with the clients who need them most. He also understands the importance of continuity between the same caregiver and the client. When Yola was diagnosed with Lupus and 14+ other co-conditions, Dr. Huntsinger became Yola’s caregiver as they found it very difficult to find care for her specific conditions. As Yola regained health, function and returned to work as a Functional Nutritionist and Certified Pilates Instructor, she and Dr. Huntsinger felt strongly and passionately about helping other individuals and families navigate care while also providing professional caregivers with expert training and tools that allow them to provide superior care to clients. Each CareWell caregiver is provided training above and beyond industry standards to ensure clients with special conditions, such as orthopedic and neurological conditions, are at lower risk of injury, falls, and are supported for their overall wellbeing. In between Dr. Huntsinger and Yola’s clinical and client-facing expertise, paired with their own journey around receiving care, they are here to help make life easier for CareWell clients and their families. Dr. Mark Huntsinger, PT, DPT | Co-Founder & Clinical Director As one half of the leadership duo at CareWell-Homecare, Mark Huntsinger brings a decade of clinical expertise directly into the home. A Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 10 years of experience, Dr. Huntsinger has dedicated his career to providing concierge-level care for complex diagnoses, including spinal health, post-surgical recovery, and neurological conditions. Because Dr. Huntsinger personally conducts every initial assessment, CareWell clients benefit from a level of insight rarely found in home care. He views every case through a clinical lens, balancing ADLs and social engagement with a rigorous focus on safety and functional competency. Beyond the initial care plan, Dr. Huntsinger frequently visits clients and their caregivers and is constantly adapting the care plan to ensure it is always optimal for the client's needs. As the lead educator for CareWell, he is personally training every CareWell caregiver in advanced transfer techniques, gait belt safety, and diagnosis-specific support. Yola Robert, FDN-P | Co-Founder & CEO As the other half of the leadership duo at CareWell-Homecare, Yola Robert brings a decade of business, marketing and operating experience as an ex-venture capitalist who focused on health tech and consumer startups. After Yola’s personal health journey with Lupus, she returned to school for Functional Nutrition and became a Certified Pilates Instructor. Over the last few years, Yola has worked with clients one-on-one in her practice across functional health, nutrition, and movement, specializing in complex and degenerative cases. Yola’s mission is to help individuals with chronic and/or degenerative conditions improve their quality of life through nutrition and movement.
